my wife and i was just making a run to the dollar store and going down a residental section of a street i had walked and drove down for my whole life(44years).right on the other side of the median directly across we saw a car spinning into a yard while shot after shot is fired.we slowed just like the other cars thinking the noise was accident noise when more shots were fired.stomped on the gas but im sure my honda is not fast enough.

i wondered about the cars on the other side right behind them.what if the wrecked car had someone trying to get away and carjacked someone?things like that make me wonder why i continue to go places that i consider just a run to a store on friday 4 pm and leaving gun at home.maybe i am looking for stories around my area to get it into my hard head that it needs to go with me.there isnt a person in my family who doesnt encourage carrying.my dad is kinda the same way and get crap from my mom(what good does it do you in the closet?)my brother seems to be the only one who carries like he should(lives in same neighborhood)

Stay safe and stay armed. You just never know. Sooner to have and never need, then to desperately need and not have. It's been years since I was station in that area but there were some places in Norfolk/Newport News I would not venture into. (Portsmouth as well)

24 years since I was last there. And 26 years before that. Looks like I'm due for a trip back there soon.

One of the main reasons I ALWAYS CC is a friend of mine was just going to the corner store for some beer and just as he was leaving, a guy who was in the back, after he had just robbed the store and was just waiting for it to empty out, came running out right after my friend did and for no reason at all shot him in the back, thank God he lived. But ever since then I will never go out without my CC gun. You never really know when or if something might happen, like they say, “it’s better to have a gun and not need it, than need a gun and not have it”.
P.S. Whenever I go over to Norfolk and especially Portsmouth I also carry two back up mags also.
