Non traditional targets

What have others here used for targets?

At my at home shooting range I hang beer & soda cans filled with water on strings with a nail on the end to loop through the pull tabs which allow the cans to move when hit and sway a bit in the wind to also give you a moving target.

Years ago I had access to a dump where appliances were gathered before being recycled. I gladly added thousands of bullets to the recycling metal.
Shooting the appliances was especially good for quick shooting because you could easily see where the bullet hit.

Found a good use for those discarded election signs. Put an eye bolt on with 2 washers welded to each side to keep it centered. Then take an empty #10 can & drill a hole on one end. Bolt the can to the wire, & you have a great target that will move when hit.
Make sure to use lock washers & get them TIGHT.
Be careful when you take them off, VERY SHARP !

i use spent shotgun shells, standing on end. gotta be good at 50 yds. get em at any skeet or trap range by the bucket's

Another item I use at my home range is clay pigeons that I pick up at the skeet range at my gun club, I hang them on a post with a nail and it’s a blast to see the explode.

I have hung golf balls/baseballs, soft balls, on a chain and put in a frame. I have also shot at at a plastic Disc about 1.5" wide. (the local supermarket hands out gold and silver ones as a promotion they make great targets) I have also used old bowling pins which the lanes will give up when they switch over every month. I have shot at small cans of latex paint and or spray paint cans. Expired Soda Cans work well also. Rotten fruit works well too. Only thing I don't shoot at is live animals (unless I'm going to eat them) so if I can carry it to the range and think it will make a good splat I'll shoot at it.

I like to shoot rd metal 5 gl bucket lids, mainly because of the sound it makes when you hit...I get them free from work

I was at a gun show a while back and found a guy selling plastic target trays. So I picked one up. Pretty cool item. No pun intended. LOL You can fill them with colored water and freeze. They came in different sizes. The best thing is,after you shoot them they just melt away. No mess to clean up.
