No more guns, knives or ammo on Google

Google, it seems, has adopted a new policy and will no longer allow "weapons", etc. See the article here:

I've uninstalled Chrome, reset my search engine to Bing, and...just in time, changing my plans for my next phone, which was going to be an Android-based Samsung. Looks like I'll be sticking with Apple after all. I'm sick of Google tracking me anyway. This is still another reason to boycott those bastards!

And when you uninstall Chrome, you get a chance to tell Google why. I did in polite and clear terms.

Cell phones are used everyday in illegal sexting and sexual photo exchanges by minors and adults preying on minors, but Google is going to stay in the cell phone business....not to mention all the communications between criminals using cell phones to enable committing crimes.

Unfortunately...do you think Apple is different?

I'm actually surprised that bowserb doesn't fully support Google's decision. After all, he's not particularly tolerant of OC'ers showing their weapons in public.

These open carry demonstrations provide photo ops for the anti-gun people who want "proof" that gun owners are just a bunch of river bottom preppers who are a threat to civilized people everywhere. <...snip...>

Apple banned firearms ads before google did:

ads containing or relating to certain products or services. At its sole discretion, Apple Inc. reserves the right to
reject or remove any ad at any time.

● Firearms, ammunition, or fireworks

Actually I don't think Google is going to limit any searches for guns, kinves, etc. I understand that they are just going to stop the ads for them. I have an ad-blocker so I've never seen them anyway.

We should all know where to search, that is, Midway, The Blue Press and other companies, oh, Cheaper than dirt, Sportsman's and local businesses. The NRA magazines adds, the other printed material and phone books. As to powder and primer purchases, for me I do not want to pay for the hazmat shipping so I make a point to buy local or if family or friends go to a large city pick up the needed supplies. Gun Broker on line is also a good source for guns. In my area we have Big 5, pretty good ammo supply and primers.

The N R A and cheaper than dirt aren't much better than Google or Apple ... Price gouging gun control hacks.

Sportsmans has always and good selection and prices on my area though.

So they will block ads for cars, booze, swimming pools, and politicians as well?

It's only ads, not search results.

Who looks at ads online anyway? I mean... Other than on this forum, right? ;)
