No Guns Allowed

I just saw on FB that Buffalo Wild Wings has a No Guns Allowed sign on all their doors. I know Home Depot doesn't allow the either. There are so many stores that don't allow open or Conceal Carry now I can't keep up. I will not support any business that isn't gun friendly and hope everyone that believes in the 2nd Amend. does the same. My problem is there are getting to be so many I can't keep up! We need a list of businesses that don't allow guns or does anyone know where one is?

Our local BWW doesn't have any signs posted. Ate there yesterday and carried. No problems. The only place I have seen a sign here is a Wendy's restaurant.

In NC you can't carry any where they serve alcohol for consumption on premises so BWWs rules aren't in play here, it's the state. I haven't noticed a sign at Home Depot, but then again, the closest one is 30 miles from me so I don't go in that often.

https://sites.google.com/site/workmanapps/posted Just keep in mind, this app is only as good as the information that it is fed. YMMV.

Our Home Depot in SC doesn't have a sign posted (or at least not in an obvious location). If they don't allow it, I've broken their rules many times ;-( I will make certain to look closer next time I'm there. If they do have a sign, I will keep on down the road........As for BWW, I don't eat there even though it's a given I can't carry there in SC, but I was just in OH for a week and still didn't support them. SCREW EM!!

Thanks for the APP, Nat'lGrdTop! I have downloaded it and am going to give it a go. The more that use it the better it will be! We all need to boycott these places and let them know we are here to stay! Let their bottom lines show how united we are! I will let everyone know how good the App works!

Carry it concealed and mind your business. Properly carried, no one knows it's there. You don't answer questions and if someone asks you just leave. You will only be in trouble if you refuse to leave. I'm generally not looking for signs but Home Deport in Orange and Dutchess counties don't have any such signs.
.
Boycotting only hurts yourself. You begin to limit your options. You run around to only gun-friendly stores and pay higher prices. And most companies don't care if they're boycotted because it has never been an issue. Calls for boycott don't go anywhere because most people don't care. Just onceal it, carry it and leave if questioned... don't even reply.

If you go into a business with a, no guns, sign posted in VA or TN and you CC you are breaking the law! That is what law abiding citizens do not do! Boycotting is just a way to let local businesses and national businesses know your opinion of them. I for one email the companies or if it's a local I tell the owner or on duty manager why I won't be a patron of theirs. It does work especially in smaller communities! If a national business gets enough emails and letters it has been know to work there also. It can't hurt. As far as paying higher prices there are always other places to shop or eat with the same or lower prices.

I can tell you from experience you won't affect a chain store's policy by threatening boycott or via email, call or letter. They just don't care. There's not enough business loss to offset a policy recommended by their attorney and adopted by a corporate board. In some cases, such as my business, insurance premiums were lower by instituting a "no firearms" policy. Will it stop crime? No. Will it change anything at all? No. It's rediculous but I do it anyway. Is anyone carrying? I don't know and would never check someone. For all I know they have a heater in their brief case. If it's illegal in your state then follow the law.

Again, best policy is not to go, carrying despite the sign can get you in trouble in itself in many states especially if some cop has their panties in a bunch. Besides which carrying against the rules of the property owner is a violation of their property rights. You don't have a right to shop at their store, they are allowing you to shop at their store if you follow the rules, just like you are allowing them to relieve you of your cash if they have decent product, prices, and POLICIES. So vote with your wallet and go someplace else.

Just look at what boycotting is doing to the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show! This is proof boycotting does work. Over 110 vendors and celebs have said they aren't participating in the show because they aren't allowing certain types of guns to be displayed. They are considering to call the show off because of so many dropping out!

Colorado has a bill pending that would assign liability to a business that bans guns on premesis if a person is injured or killed in an incident where using a gun to protect themselves could have been an option. This applies to businesses where one would under normal circumstances be allowed to carry if otherwise not posted.

Even if it were to pass there is already federal case law from the SCOTUS on this. According to past case law even the police are under no obligation to protect you. It's unenforceable just like so many so many other laws that get enacted.

Signs don't have force of law where I am, so... I just "carry on". What they don't know will not hurt them and could very well save my azz.
