This may be kicking a dead horse but i have to ask. Signs banning weapons shall be posted at the outside ofall possible entrances. If you walk into a business that has no posting on the outer door but has one on the INNER set of doors...will the sign carry weight of law. The reason i ask is because i was recently at an aldi store that had this and i Technically would have been inside the premises and broken the law if i didnt already know aldi posted.

As with all things it depends on your state law.

In Colorado the signs have no force of law and I ignore them

State law and, in many instances (the case in SC) the sign's dimensions and wording etal are defined specifically in the law. Putting up a sign that says no, if it does not meet SC law means nothing legally. You have to obey the law--guess what, the store also has to obey the law.

Here in wisconsin i believe it has to be at least 5x7 and clearly posted outside of all possible entrance. I believe the sign IS 5x7 but is see through and INSIDE of the store on a second "entrance" door

As stated above every State has its own laws. Some are very specific on the required sign, some don't mention signs, my State says that the signs are legal but says nothing about ignoring them being illegal. It is very important that you read all the laws of your State regarding the use and carrying of firearms. If you don't feel comfortable reading the law then take a class. In fact read the laws before the class and again after it. The cost of not understanding the laws can be extreme.

It is legal for me to carry past the sign. My State decides where it is legal to carry not the business. I do not spend any money with the businesses that post anti-gun signs and I let them know why. I have to admit to a deal of pleasure listening to a manager becoming distressed at the loss of my business. Remember this only works if you are extremely polite.

For Ohio, yes. Do “No Gun Signs” Have the Force of Law?
“YES”
R.C. 2923.126(C)(3) allows the owner or person in control of private land to post a sign in a conspicuous place that prohibits persons from carrying concealed firearms on that property.

For Florida, Do “No Gun Signs” Have the Force of Law?
“NO”

“No Firearm” signs in Florida have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry. If you are in a place not specifically mentioned in the law that is posted and they ask you to leave, you must leave. If you refuse to leave then you are breaking the law and can be charged. Even if the property is not posted and you are asked to leave you must leave. Always be aware of the possibility that responding Police Officers who may have been called without your knowledge and may not know the laws on trespass etc. could arrest you even if you are within the law.

In Kentucky, this is appears to be the pertinent language:

"Carrying of a concealed weapon, or ammunition, or both in a location specified in this subsection by a license holder shall not be a criminal act but may subject the person to denial from the premises or removal from the premises, and, if an employee of an employer, disciplinary measures by the employer.

For Ohio, this is the rest of the statute from above which makes it a crime to ignore the posted sign.

A person who knowingly violates a posted prohibition of that nature is guilty of criminal trespass in violation of division (A)(4) of section 2911.21 of the Revised Code and is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. If a person knowingly violates a posted prohibition of that nature and the posted land or premises primarily was a parking lot or other parking facility, the person is not guilty of criminal trespass in violation of division (A)(4) of section 2911.21 of the Revised Code and instead is subject only to a civil cause of action for trespass based on the violation.

Same in Tennessee.

With the exception of:

29-11.7-104. Regulation - carrying - posting.

A local government may enact an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the open carrying of a firearm in a building or specific area within the local government's jurisdiction. If a local government enacts an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the open carrying of a firearm in a building or specific area, the local government shall post signs at the public entrances to the building or specific area informing persons that the open carrying of firearms is prohibited in the building or specific area.

Does anyone know the law in PA? Ive looked but yet to find anything.

For PA. Do “No Gun Signs” Have the Force of Law?
“NO”

“No Firearm” signs in Pennsylvania have no force of law unless they are posted on property that is specifically mentioned in State Law as being off limits to those with a Permit/License to Carry. If you are in a place not specifically mentioned in the law that is posted and they ask you to leave, you must leave. If you refuse to leave then you are breaking the law and can be charged. Can u find the laws for ohio ad see what they say for me then ? About these signs

I'm surprised your CCW instructor didn't cover this.

Ohio only has one stipulation for private property "no guns" signs. The law specifies that it be "conspicuous". It doesn't require any specific wording or format or size. "No guns" written on a paper napkin with crayon is perfectly legal as long as it is posted in a "conspicuous" location.

Aldi's stores are all posted on the inside door for some reason..Once inside the outside door the you have to enter the store. If you ignore the sign then you can be asked to leave here in Wisconsin by the store and if you dont leave you can be sighted for trespassing. I CC so i dont worry about signs to much. The Aldi's store clerk in Milwaukee that the CC customer stoped a shotgun robbery probably is glad the customer ignored the sign..JMO
