No Concealed Weapons Store

I just visited my first store that actually had the correct size "No Concealed Weapons" sign displayed in the door.

I thought I would pass the info along and hope many more would take the approach I did. I informed the store owner as well as corporate that as long as they enforced a policy that allowed criminals to be armed as well as put me at risk, I would NOT be a patron of their store. As I walked away, I asked if the owner enjoyed advertising being a target for criminals. He could only grin and say it was a "corporate" policy.

The name of the store was Sherwin Williams (paint store)

Do us all a favor and post the store info.

Back when I was in college, I rented movies from Blockbuster about every week. On one of my 'movie runs', I noticed a new "No Firearms" sign in the little foyer of the entrance but I had to go ahead and enter because of the way the doors were set up. I came on in, slid my previous rentals into the return slot and walked around the cashier wrap to go back out. As I exited, the manager (who recognized me as a regular customer that he'd talked to on several occasions) walked up to say hello. When he asked me what movie I was getting that week, I told him what I had been planning on picking up and then explained that Blockbuster had apparently decided that they didn't want my money by putting up their little sign, so I was going to head over to the Movie Gallery to make my weekly rental. The store manager was truly sympathetic to my feelings on the matter. He explained that his hands were tied since it came down from corporate to put up the 'stupid sign' (his words, not mine) but he'd pass along my feelings to the regional management.

About a week later, the store manager called me at home and informed me that the sign had been taken down due to numerous customer complaints and loss of revenue in the two weeks it had been up.

In SC if you enter a business with CC you can be asked to leave, the owner or his agent also can have local LOE ask for trespass order if you return. BUT If you enter the same store CC and truly are CC, then this issue should ever arise. Same store different scenario. You enter, an event happens where you draw and drop perp. The store will disavow any insurance claim due to complying with the law. You're still standing with maybe some legal issues coming. The perp should not be standing and maybe some morgue issues coming (IF you have trained well). This not really and issue for me.
I'd sooner be standing in front of a Judge with handcuffs then on a table with a toe tag.

ALWAYS TWO ROUND BURSTS

Certainly a sound and reasoned response to a store that rolls out the welcome mat for criminals. I prefer an equally sound response which is to let the store know I will no longer do buisness with them. They have a right to implement any policy they wish just as I have a right to take my money to Home Depot or Lowes.

Speaking of which, if you do go to Lowe's, don't forget to ask for the military discount if you're military or a veteran. They've been good to me and have never had a problem with my OC (wherever legal).

Question: If you are carrying CONCEALED how would they know?

I'll answer a question with a question....what happens to you if you get caught carrying concealed in a store that clearly displays a "No Concealed Weapons" sign? Answer is above....owner asks you to leave (best case scenario), cops are called and your given a no trespassing order....so now what?

So to answer the original question, either don't carry in the store, don't get caght carrying or simply do business elsewhere....

I guess it depends on how big your gun is, weather they can see it,
and I will be Shute to not give my money to ANY bussiness which
steps on my rights and not think of criminals carrying. Don't they realize
his is kind of like "free security"? Resonably, legally.
Carry everyday... It does no good locked up at home!

Keep it concealed. They don't have to know. You and God will know...

Peace..

Exactly, if your carry concealed and it's not concealed then I'm missing the point somewhere. How is anyone going to know if you're carrying or not IF concealed. As for the businesses, they have a right to operate in a free society. I also have a right not to shop there. I fully agree with previous posting that basically states: Exercise your First Amendment rights over their lack of your Second Amendment rights! NO CHANGE your business policy, NO get my business.

ALWAYS DCM with two round bursts-Evaluate-ADDITIONAL two round bursts if required. IF YOU'VE TRAINED WELL, second burst NOT required.

Carry. Conceal/Carry. Open Carry. Your wallet should dictate where it want its content to be spend. Plain and simple. If they don't like it...tough.

There is no such thing as a gun free zone,UNLESS, and I will get to the unless in a moment. The correct term is criminal protection zone. I would like to see a law passed that would absolutely prohibit any entity from denying people with concealed carry licenses from accessing any premises with their firearm, UNLESS said entity had metal detectors at all entrances to said premises. I mean everything. Not that I would agree with the prohibition, but it's just that if they had to do that, it would reasonably assure that it would be gun free for EVERYBODY, not just law abiding citizens. As we all know, criminals don't obey laws, or no gun signs. When will the gun grabbers ever get this?

When will the gun grabbers ever get this?

They will never get it. And, we will continue to let them create legislation that chips away our rights under the guise of being polite and understanding.
Not only that but either we won't vote or vote for the same clown that supports these ideas because the person is good for my district or my union etc.
The marketing machine of well funded groups like The Brady Bunch and Bloombergs "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" know exactly what they are doing.
I mean how can you oppose being against illegal guns?
The problem is they are against all guns but through marketing and slogans are able to hide the actual agenda.
They can certainly label us with names but the minute you label them you are slammed as being rude or ignorant.
That is why they won't get it, they don't have to.
