NFL anti-gun?

Daniel Defense, makers of the popular DDM4 AR style rifle, created a 30 second commercial and wanted to air it during the Super Bowl. The NFL rejected their submission and refused to air it! Now I'm a huge NFL fan but this kinda pissed me off. Any other thoughts on this?

I hope a bunch of people don't come on here and start saying that they'll no longer watch NFL games. Anti-gun or not, I love football; always have and always will.

That means that your love for football iz more important to you than the defense of your rights. That's the way your rights are taken away, giving you something you like more in exchange.

I must admit that I'm still watching the Super Bowl and I'll always be an Eagles fan and NFL fan in general but this really pissed me off. Any ideas on how to show the NFL that we as gun owners are not happy with this situation and their stance on guns in general in masse

Yea...don't watch the NFL. Don't buy NFL merchandise. As long as your money keeps going into their pockets, what do they care that your feelers are hurt?

I hear this a lot about getting into better shape. Constantly hear, "I'd do anything to get into better shape and look like (insert role model name), except I want to eat whatever I want still and working out is too hard."

The same way rental properties aren't allowed to restrict your 2nd amendment rights by not allowing you to keep firearms in the house/apartment.

This doesn't surprise me at all... I don't watch any professional sports, so I couldn't care less about what a bunch of criminals do with a football or what their owners say is okay to be aired on their dime. As I saw posted, this is not an 1A issue.... let's not falsely take it there, folks. If you don't agree with the anti-gun agenda of the NFL and the networks that support it.... then don't watch it, buy it or bother with it!!!

If you pay for those NFL packages from Dish or whoever, buy game tickets, merchandise or any other manner of participation... you support their anti-gun agenda. It's your fault, deal with it...

Load the NFL facebook page with your views. Being a private corp. they can do whatever they want, but I believe a corporation that is so much in the public eye should take a neutral stance on gun control, abortion, politics, religion, etc., otherwise they are going to piss off some group of fans!

Who say's they aren't allowed? If the lease says no firearms allowed and you signed it, that was your choice. Washington has no law saying it's illegal for rental properties to put restrictions on firearms in their leases, so I am not sure where you got the idea that rental properties can't restrict firearms.

I contacted the NFL with the following email

I was dismayed by the refusal of the NFL to air a commerci for Daniel Defense (a firearm manufacturer) during the Super Bowl. Is the NFL anti gun?

NFL = Big Business

Big Business is almost always going to be, if not outright anti gun, at least not favorable to guns.

Of course, big business is not favorably disposed to lots of other things, as well. Consider all the racy GoDaddy ads that haven't aired during Superbowls.

NASCAR is also anti-gun - firearms are prohibited at its events. So you have to give up watching the NFL and NASCAR, and all products associated with those two events, including advertisers and companies whose products are used in the events.

Did the NFL refuse because it was a firearm ad? Or because Daniel defense didn't pay enough? What's the average commercial spot cost during the super bowl? $1 million?

They absolutely don't care. There aren't enough people willing to do this to have any real affect.
