News Bias
I see and read almost every day an item on the Webb news outlets about a white person being beat up, robbed and molested by either a single black person or a mob going out to find some white person alone to do harm to.
The big question is why the media don’t comment on this the way they did with the Zimmerman situation. Or where are Jackson and Sharpton denouncing these violent acts, could it be that they don’t want to object to these crimes because there’s nothing to them to promote their version of racial bias?
If I didn’t read or see it on the Webb news sites I wouldn’t even know about these atrocities, although I do see the articles on Fox news.
As far as I’m concerned every major news outlet (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN & MSNBC) are doing us an injustice by their bias towards these national news items and deciding for us what they think is correct for us to see.
Here’s an example from Fox News, the only news outlet that published this:
White Man Brutally Beat Up, Police Investigating Race Motive
On the surface, there seems to be no reason why a 26-year-old Minnesota man was savagely beaten by a group of young men who left him suffering severe brain swelling. People living near the area of the attack, however, believe that race may definitely have been a factor.
Raymond Widstrand, 26, was walking down a street in St. Paul, Minnesota, late Sunday night when he was suddenly set upon by a group of young black men. The first strike against him was made with a can wrapped in a sock.
When Widstrand went down, a melee began, with the attackers repeatedly kicking him, leaving him with severe brain swelling. Doctors have said that, if Widstrand survives, he will have “permanent and protracted” loss of brain function.
When Widstrand was rescued, WCCO, the local CBS affiliate, reports that “his pants were off and his shirt torn.” His arms and legs were “spread out,” and he was bleeding copiously.
According to the Star Tribune editorial board, “Authorities are investigating what role race played in the attack: Widstrand is white, and those arrested for attacking him are black. Police reports say that two groups of black youths, some believed to be gang members, were fighting each other, then turned on Widstrand as he walked by.”
The police have arrested three unnamed juveniles, as well as 19-year-old Issac Maiden. All four have been charged with two counts of gang-related crimes, as well as one count each of first-degree assault and first-degree aggravated robbery. Apropos the robbery charge, it’s quite clear, given the size of the gang attacking him, that Widstrand would have turned over his possessions without a fight. The beating was motivated by pure hostility.
St. Paul citizens believe that the crime wasn’t just senseless violence. Instead, they think that this kind of brutality had to be motivated by something. Moreover, they’re suspicious that Widstrand, who was only a block from the police station, was beaten eight days ago, and the police said nothing for several days – only to announce suddenly that there’s no evidence that it was a hate crime.
One witness, however, says that Widstrand was attacked by a mixed race gang with Hispanics, whites, and blacks, all of them throwing themselves into the fight with incredible brutality. The common denominator wasn’t race, it was violent youth. Everyone agrees that St. Paul has some serious gang problems.
Speaking on behalf of the St. Louis police, Sgt. Paul Paulos decried the brutal attack. “This will not be tolerated by the St. Paul police nor the city of St. Paul,” he declared. “He should be able to walk with freedom, with peace.”
No matter what the ultimate cause behind the attack, the suspicions involving it reflect race relations in Obama’s America. There can be no doubt that the obsessive focus that Obama and his supporters put on race – despite the fact that Americans twice voted a white-black man into the White House – has set race relations in America back almost to the Jim Crow era , except that this time, too often, the aggressors and oppressors are black, not white.
