Congrats on the find. Also if you are in the market for some more new and never fired weapons, I know a guy in Iraq.:sarcastic:

Howdy,

Cool shotgun!

Questions about it? Gee, it's an 870. They've been around since 1951 and are used by LEO and military units around the world and there's a good reason why.

Down through the years I've heard a lot of people, while pointing to or holding a shotgun, say "It ain't an 870, but it will do." But I've never heard anyone say as the were holding their 870 say "I wish I would have bought a ________ pump instead." and there's a reason why.

Looks like all you need is a sling and a bunch of ammo. Now it's time to bring on the Zombies!

Lol. For sure. Ive got the sling, and a magpul stock and pump grip coming so my stock doesnt get used marks on it.

I got mine used for a good price when prices were mostly too high. Mine, like yours has the synthetic stock and holds 6+1. On Wednesday I had it out on the farm where it's safe to shoot and put a box of Rio target load through it. It wasn't real happy as it partially ejected several casings and jammed on #24. A friend came over tonite and taught me how to remove the barrel and ram the casing out. I'll finish the other 75 shells I got for Christmas and then stick with Remington target loads for practice. We found the Rio 2 3/4" shells to be 1/8" shorter than the Remmy shells. I love the fact that you can hit anything within 30' or so if the sight bead is on it. I have a 6" x5' cedar tree stump I'm cutting down with mine. It is at hand next to me when I'm in bed. 00 is in the chamber when on duty.

How do you take the butt stock off? Im not sure if the bolt it behind the butt pad or under the STATE PATROL plate on the bottom. I tried to remove the pad but no screws there and it feels like it is glued or stuck on there. I was gonna take it off to keep it in good condition and get a magpul set up
