NEW to the CCW world!

I'm a noob to the CCW family, but I am a former Marine with weapon experience. Glad to feel protected again. Just recently purchased a used Glock 23 for my carry weapon. Does anyone have any feedback on this choice? Everyone I "know" says it was the way to go, but sometimes it's the folks you don't know that have better advice. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site and ccw, i carry either my g22 or g27, bought both of them at different times, they are both police trade-ins and i have yet to have a problem with the g22 and the only problem i have with the g27 is ftf when i use a 23 or 22 mag without a sleeve, but that is because my pinky gets a little happy and tweaks the mag (but i only use other mags in target practice so it's no big deal). As long as the 9 round is i it eats everything i feed it.

I am also new to the CCW world and went with a Kahr CW45. Just got notice that my Crossbreed Super-tuck shipped today and looking forward to a little more peace of mind for me and my family.

As for the Glock, you really can't go wrong as long as it's comfortable for you to shoot and you're accurate with it!

Thank you for your service and welcome to this forum from Missouri. I own a Glock 23 and it is the best purchase I ever made...goes kaboom everytime, no problem so far yet and I've had for quite sometime.

Thank you for your service from a Retired Soldier in Washington State..
If you like what you have, are comfortable carrying and firing it.. Then it is what you should carry.

welcome to the family....!

Carry all the time legally and enjoy your rights as an American....Your choice is a very good one, but if the gun feels good in you hand and you can hit the target in a consistant way. Then you made the right choice.

Also, remember that having a gun, should not make you feel safe...it is the training and your mental awareness that will keep you safe. Not having a block of polymer ad steel on your hip.

Be safe, sir...and again, WELCOME to the CCW world!.

right on brother! I do like carrying my 40 but since I am 150 lbs, It's hard to hide larger guns on my side. I prefer my LCP with 5 rounds loaded due to weight and low profile on my side. The way I see it, Carry what is comfortable to you and you will figure out your comfort zone over time. I never really notice my LCP but sure notice the 40. Another thing I like about the LCP is that I can conceal it under my T-shirt without notice.

My biggest advice would be to study the law as much as you can. You would be surprised at what can get you in trouble in some states and how vague the law can be with locations and the menacing laws. The more you know, the better off you will be.

I carry mine as much as possible mostly to protect others from the scum of society we are forced to share oxygen with. The more people we have out there with ccw's, the better!

Welcome jasmos! So thankful for your service as a Marine, my son is now in the USAF & I'm thinking on purchasing a 1911, or Glock, for him as a graduation present. He loves the .45s! Learned from his father and grandfather AND his mother! I carry a Para Ordnance P12 but I'm thinking on using an ankle holster for the new Springfield Armory XDS, also in .45

This is the best family ever.

You are most welcome! Thanks to your son for answering the call too! I almost picked up a Springfield 9mm for my carry, but the G23 was calling my name! It seems to be one of the most popular carry weapons out there. I've got a 2nd gen built in Dec 1991, and it is still in fantastic shape.

I'm a week into carrying a Gen4 G22 and I really like it. I prefer the funky IWB holsters and added XS Big Dot Night Sights. What ammo are you carrying in your G23?

Everybody has differant preferances, but in my CC guns I use PDX-1, its made a lot like the old Black Talon, ands runs good in all my carry guns including the 23

I have carried for about a year but have limited experience. The PDX runs great in my lc9 and my XD40 sc. I use Hornady CD in my lcp and Federal in my sr9c.
