Hi, My name is Gregg and I'm from Oklahoma. I do have a ccl and have carried only a few times. With the terrorist attacks happening I am going to start carrying conceal a lot more. I retired from the Oklahoma Army National Guard after 26 1/2 years and a tour in Iraq 2004-2005. At my age of 55 and being single and living alone with my best friend lucky(my dog). I guess it would be better to have the gun on me and not need it than to need it and not have it on me. The gun I carry is a ruger LC9 and I am having alittle problem concealing it in my waist band. It's just not comfortable or maybe my love handles are getting in the way. I like to carry it on my left side. Any suggestion? Thank You.

Gregg

Good for you Gregg. It's better to be safe than sorry. It won't kill you to have your firearm on you but get caught in one of these future terrorist attacks without your Firearm and that will most likely will get you and your family killed. Stay safe my friend. Your friend from NYS

Go to a firearms store that carry multiple brands and styles. Try them on for fit and comfort. I also am a Ruger guy and I got my holster from a place called The Holster Store in Florida. Their site is The Holster Store: Leather Gun Holsters & Concealed Carry Holsters and they make all their own holsters of US materials and labor. Ship fast and the prices are good. I got mine in 4 days. The best way to check out what they have for your gun is to look up holsters for Ruger LC9 on the home page. They will have quite a selection. I have a Pro-Carry Deep Comfort IWB, and have been carrying with it for 4 years. Can be ordered for left or right and usually in black or brown colors. They even have a holster that is the spitting image of a Crossbreed, but is much cheaper on the wallet. Hope this helps.

Hi Gregg and welcome to the forum. If IWB is not comfortable for you there is always the outside. I carried my G27 that way for years. With a loose shirt on nobody will notice. BTW, diamonds are a girl's best friend but dogs are man's best friend and I think we got the better part of that deal. Wouldn't trade anything for mine.

Go to a uniform store for L.E.O./Security ideas. With all of the new types of gear they should have some great stuff. Let us know what you choose.

Hey guy I'm new here and I want to know if I've already received a certificate of completion of the concealed carry class... what will I have to pay when I go to the court house in VA.

I had to spend a few bucks buying several types of IWB holsters until I found the best fit. Just having something to carry inside the waistband does take some getting used to, however.

Hiya Greg, same age, same gun, same gym, same Awsome body! I've gotten used to carrying it at 5oclock. The muffin top doesn't hurt as much as the Dunlap .

At the end of the day, you need to remember that we are all dead men. What you do with your life doesn't matter, only how you meet your end. Will you die on your knees like a coward or face the glory of a warrior's death? And in order to assure that, I suggest open carry, be the sheep dog with teeth barred letting the wolf know you'll fight any takers.

I have both Crossbreed and AlienGear IWB for my 3 handguns. Love both but the Alien Gear is cheaper. Able to receive 2 for the price of one Crossbreed. But have to admit my first IWB holster was from a gun show where one vendor had some that were all nylon type with reinforcement for the opening. I have to honestly say if he would have had some for my other 2 automatics I would have purchased from him at the time. Price was really reasonable and I really can't feel a thing when I am wearing it.

Have you tried OWB holsters? Due to back problems I was forced to switch from IWB to OWB holsters. I have have found Blade Tech holsters comfortable and also easy to conceal using either my Springfield xds or my Glock 19, your LC9 should conceal in an outside the waistband holster without much problem if you choose the right holster.

I have the Alien Gear IWB holster for my 9mm Sig. The holster is very comfortable and I can wear it all day without any discomfort. My only problem comes when trying to re-holster. The pressure from my belt somewhat crimps the holster, stopping me from simply sliding the gun back into the holster. It takes a little effort to put it back but it is worth that effort. I have a 1911 with rails which I wanted to use an Alien Gear for but they told me they didn't have the shell for it so I went to a shoulder holster. I like to wear it when driving but considering its weight, I would rather have it on my hip.

I find that the Alien Gear IWB holsters are ok at best I find them to be bothersome at times to where I have to readjust it or myself and all without bringing undue attention to myself if I'm out in public. Since I don't live in an open carry State, I live in a State controlled by Communists and they have the minions of NYC that keep voting them in term after term.

One that you could look at, or at least look it up on the internet is Sneaky Pete. I see that there are other manufacturers of the ones they make but you can carry outside yet the holster looks like a cell or pda holster. I am going to order one myself for times when carrying IWB will not work with the clothes I would be wearing.

Make sure you learn and practice drawing from that holster. If you shoot yourself, it still counts.
