New to CCW: Question About Concealed Carry Issue

Hello everyone,

I just recently obtained a Colorado CCW permit and therefor just started carrying concealed around my community. Overall, I have been very happy with my gear. I am carrying a Springfield XD Mod 2 subcompact 45 ACP (what a mouth-full) and I am using the latest Aliengear IWB holster. Finally, I am using a Kore Essential gun belt.

So the only real issue I have had thus far is that anytime I sit down on any piece of furniture, crouch down (say at the store to get something off the bottom shelf), or pretty much do anything where I am not standing straight up, I can feel the grip of my handgun pull significantly away from my body. usually sitting on furniture is not that big of an issue because I normally have a backrest to conceal the handgun, but I have found that benches and the crouching at the store pose a bigger issue to trying to keep my CCW a secret. Is this an issue with my belt not being tight/stiff enough, my holster not fitting my body, or simply my crouching technique? Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this issue? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give this new CCW permit holder!!

Don't worry too much about printing. People typically do not notice your concealed firearm printing. Heck, most people don't even notice an openly carried firearm. The concealed carry squat is a common thing and one can really obsess about not printing. Now, what typically happens is that the grip of the handgun starts pointing away from the body. One way to improve this is to move the holster a little bit forward or back on the belt (e.g., from 4 o'clock to 4:30 - or the other way around), slightly change the cant (e.g., from the FBI cant to a more straight draw - or the other way around), and lastly, change the holster (which I don't recommend in your case).

There's kind of a "sweet spot" try moving your gun a little.

Other than that I'm with bofh, it's Colorado no one cares

You might also think about not bending at the waist. Instead squat, it keeps the butt closer.

I moved my IWB holster belt clips up a bit, one more than the other, to lower and tilt my G26 until it was more concealed and more comfortable. And found that sweet spot along my belt so sitting in a car is comfortable. Just tinker a bit. When you find what works for you... blue locktite it.
