Has anyone bought or shot this handgun? It looks like an interesting wheelgun, featuring 7 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 +P in a gun that weighs ~2 1/2 pounds. Just curious what you think about this gun. I do like the 7 rounds, and the .357 or .38 seems like good ammo for self defense. But, the weight make me wonder about carrying.

I've had one for a year, and I love it. Super reliable, very easy to shoot accurately in double action, and "hair-trigger" single action mode. It is a big heavy gun, but that's what makes it easy to keep on target with a quick second shot. Lot's of fun to shoot; the heavier magnum rounds pack a real wallop. My 4" barrel makes it useful for just about anything. Good quality gun belt and holster a must for carry. A great gun.

I don't know about the 686+, but the older 686's were dream guns. Smooth trigger, more accurate than you will likely be, overall excellent.

How had the old 686 compare to the Ruger LCR 9? I was trying to decide and I went with the Ruger. I already had a SR9c and could use my ammo stash of 9 for both guns.

Night and day. Both are good guns, but the LCR is a lightweight, "concealable" 5 shot. 686 is a solid stainless, heavy gun.
