New purchase.

Last wednesday I picked up another Century Arms AK, this time the AK47. I've had the AK74 for awhile now and decided my next rifle purchase would be another AK.

I took her out this weekend and ran her through my drills... walking & running forward while shooting, multiple reloads, crawl, walk, run drills... up & down drills, random target drills, multiple engagements, transitions to secondary, and reliability tests.

It fired flawlessly! It took me throwing it down to transition to secondary fine and handled two handfuls of sand thrown in the action! It's as accurate as I am too.

Anyway, just braggin a bit :)... I'd recommend anyone buying a Century Arms AK, they've worked great for me.

Awesome, I have always wanted an AK. Guess for now I will have to be happy with my modified SKS. Nothing mechanical, tactical stock, new gas tube and red dot, but I am happy with it.

I've heard of many people having problems with the SKS after they convert it to use the 20 or 30 round mags... but I've never used one. It seems to be a decent weapon though... I'd assume they're tough?

Not to butt in; however I once owned an SKS with the composite 20 and 30 round magazines (it's been since '95 so I forget the manufacturer) and I never had any malfuntion that I recall. I mean I paid just about nothing for it (about $200.00) and had a great time shooting it! It still had the folding bayonet attached as well as the wood stock and what appeared to be an original sling, I muddied it, wet it, shook it dropped it, and gave it every test I could think of and still fired fine. Not bad for a "commie" gun honestly. Hard to come by now though, and I wish I never let mine go!!

Mine is converted, post ban, take any composite magazine. Never had any issues. My apologies to the OP for getting off topic.
