New mini Glocks on the way?

THAT is good news! I'd love to see more "Made in the USA" Glocks, especially something in this "pocketable" form factor. This from someone who EDC's a Glock 30s with an occasional swap to the Glock 26 when I want to go "lighter". I'm selling my Ruger LC9 as its not much different carrying it than the Glocks. I also sometimes carry a Taurus TCP 738 when I want a real "pocket gun".
We have already seen the 26 and 27 models come thru with the USA labels along with the 17 and 19. So it looks like they are moving along pretty rapidly with getting things setup.

It will be the model G42 unveiled at the 2014 SHOT Show in January. Rumor has it it will be a single stack .380 slim profile pistol.

If this is true, then this is pretty exciting news for me (a Glock fan since the early 90's). :dance3:

I have been hoping/wishing that Glock would produce a small, single stack 380 for quite a few 'years' now. :yes4:

I just hope when they do come out with these new guns they are easer to get a hold of then the 30s has been still trying to get my hands on one

got mine 1.5 weeks ago from Vance in columbus, oh. They got in about 30 of em! Bet they still have lots left (reg & blue label).... good prices too.

I heard about this also. I am wondering about pricing point though. I am looking for an ultra-reliable single stack carry gun chambered in 9mm. I love my G23; it is good for HD but it is a beast to carry, and the .40 is a little too much for me to get back on target quickly. I also have problems with the size of the Glock double stack grip. I shot a friend's Sig P225 and P239 and consider them the best of the single stack 9s. I love that they are hammer fired and DA/SA. The P225 has the sweetest trigger I have ever fired on a gun. But they are not good concealed carry guns unless you are a large guy. I am not strictly opposed to a .380 but would rather not give up the 9 mm if I don't have to. Any ideas? Does anyone have any idea if Glock is coming out with in a single stack 9mm in the mini Glock category?

I don't know about Glocks future plans on future mini Glocks in 9mm, but in the meantime look into a Springfield XDs. They are offered in both 9mm (7rd flush, 9rd extended) and .45 (5rd flush and 7rd extended) in single stack slim. They are both less than an inch wide, I think .97 inches. They are VERY easy to carry and you barely know you are carrying them. Not really a pocket gun in my opinion, but some people do.

Yeah, I have heard great things about the single stack XDS 45, but I really can't give up my Glock 19. It is a bit big to carry but it is a dream to shoot. I hope Glock comes out with that mini Glock.

I would replace my P3AT that I always have in my pocket even if I have my G26 IWB. At home pocket carry is what I like since it is easy to have a gun with me and it doesn't get in the way or cause discomfort while doing things around the home. Not that I have had any issues with the Keltec, I would just prefer a Glock since I already have a G17 and G26.

Thank you, I will take a look at the XDs. They look cool. I do not prefer a striker fired gun but it I will try to get ahold of one to try out.

How much slimmer is the slide on the G30S? Glock lists the G30, G30SF and G30S all as being 32.5 mm wide, which I imagine is the frame width. I'm not so sure that a slimmer slide would make that much difference with my G30SF as far as carrying goes. I have more trouble concealing the grip than the slide.

As for the new gun or guns supposedly coming out, all you have to do is buy an old gun if you want a single stack magazine. Single stack magazines were the norm for semi-automatic pistols until about thirty years ago when double stack magazines started to become widely available because some people, mostly cops, were running out of ammo in gunfights. I shouldn't complain though I guess. I have an old single stack 45 I don't carry anymore because of the limited ammo capacity. If people are going to start craving single stacks again, maybe it'll be worth more.
