New member looking for input on practice gear/process

I just purchased my first Glock. It's a gen 4 Glock 19. Seller even added a fourth clip. I'm happy with the deal and am curious for some input on the process to become proficient. I'm reading a lot of opinions about holsters, advanced practice, etc but have not found much on starting new. Does anyone have a process to follow that will help a newby become more effective?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Steve, first lesson. It is not a clip, it is a magazine. Clips go into Garand M1's. Magazines go into semi-auto pistols.

To further your education, take a Basic Pistol Course from an NRA instructor. Or if you are beyond that stage, take a more advanced course from a reputable trainer. Read a lot of magazines and books on shooting. Glean the portion that is good information from forums. Remember that not all info is useful or safe on forums, so watch out.

Steve, start with the basics. Take a class like NRA Basic Pistol where you can learn the fundamentals. Very important to learn them early before bad habits develop. Then move on to courses like NRA Personal Protection. Once you've taken these basic classes and practiced a bit you can head for more advacned training. Avoid YouTube videos and armchair instructors. Get training from a certified instructor.
