Hello everyone,

Just purchased the Kel-Tec Gen 2 9mm carbine from a dealer in Oklahoma. Just wondering about your thoughts on mounting the Midwest Industries Side mount and what red dot optics you might suggest mounting on the new mount.

Let me know your thoughts...appreciate any feedback.

This looks like a pretty cool setup.

Looks to be a Primary Arms Red Dot.

I have many different makes all on AR's, including two AR-9 pistols. The wife wanted a reticle that looks like a couple concentric circles around the red dot and two 'crosshairs' intersecting the dot. Once she saw that it was the only acceptable answer. I found Sightmark and Holosun both have them as well as the real cheapie NcStar. The NcStar works well but there is no auto off. $38 for the NcStar, $250+ for Sightmark and it is kind of big, $300 for the Holosun a little smaller with a solar charge function.
I have a Sub 2000 Dot less, but I have a extra NcStar. I have yet to shoot the Sub.

Thank you for the information. I'm going to have my wife try shooting my Kel-Tec Gen 2 with the open sights to learn the basics. I had her do a couple of trigger pulls and the near 9 lb pull required her to use 2 fingers. I will update with the M*Carbo trigger kit that is supposed to reduce trigger pull to around 5 lbs. I sighted in with 50 rounds using the manufacturers small rear peep reticle. The rifle was very accurate. I've since changed out the peep to a larger reticle through M*Carbo (easy install). This new sight is much easier to achieve a sight picture with less need for mashing your cheek to the bolt tube. Also added a bolt tube cover and 2 finger charging handle and also purchased a "happy stick".

Feel free to ask any questions or update me on your collection.

I had never researched mods for the Kel-Tek, Double Thanks. I do however, have several "Happy Sticks" I have a Kel-Tek SU-22 and a PMR-30. I would like their SU-16 and the 5.56 Bullpup.
