New Jersey the arm pit of the WORLD!!

Allow me to vent. I lived in Nj for 30 years, as soon as I turned 21 I filed for my firearms identification card and several pistol permits.

Saddly, the Camden city detective delayed my application for nine months. Fortunately, he retired and his replacement notified me about my application. Apparently, the previous detective failed to inform me of one unchecked box on my application.

When I arrived at cpd to complete the application the new dt apologized for the delay and explained that his predecessor did not belive that private citizens should own firearms. Furthermore, he explained to me that he had two years of unprocessed applicants to contact.

The thing about that situation that makes me the angriest is while I was waiting doir my application to be processed a guy was driving around in the city with a crate load of Davis Industries .32 cal's selling them for $300 a pop!

And yes while I was waiting for my limboed app someone tried to CAR JACK ME WITH ONE OF THOSE .32'S.

Fortunatly, no one got hurt except the bg's feelings after his proposal for the acquisition of my car was met with my then notorious potty mouth. Thank you Jesus for deliverance.

And thank you Lord for the Great State of Pennsylvania!! Where it takes 10 minutes to purchase a gun and $25 and one week to get a Ltcf aka ccw.

Okay fellow 2a's I have a question why does the caged bird sing? Why do my fellow 2a brothers and sisters in Nj allow those progressives aka socialist hinder thier rights?

My answer? A caged bird sings because it has never known freedom.

Borrowing from MLK... Free at last thank God almighty I'm free at last!!

welcome!

Welcome to PA. :) Got my LTCF on a temporary driver's license that I got the day after I moved up, and it took $40 (more money) but only 45 minutes at the Doylestown courthouse (far less time) before I was happily licensed to carry once again. It's not all roses, though - since you have to apply in your home county, Philly residents typically get screwed by the city GPU who usually have the same attitude as your Camden detective. NJ's firearm laws are about 90% of the reason why I don't cross the bridges unless I absolutely have to.

A friend of mine used to say if they needed to give the Earth an enema they would stick it in New Jersey. I don't know about that but NJ does not seem have a great love from the residents of the other 49 states.

"New Jersey the arm pit of the WORLD!!"
It's not just firearm laws that make the title of your post true.

I flew over it once. Now I know what I smelled!:sarcastic:

Hey, it could be worse, you could live in Commy-nois. No chance of carry in that state!

I was born and raised in south jersey and their gun laws is one of the biggest reasons i moved to North Carolina more than thirty years ago.

Even without the draconian gun laws, the traffic congestion would be enough to keep me away from that godforsaken place.

I do most of my instructor training in NJ. Gun For Hire is located in Belleville, close to Newark (Anthony Colandro provides quality hands-on training). Coming from NY I follow all the instructions for transporting my firearms to class but my heart is pumping the entire way as this is the most unfriendly state I've been to.

NJ is a parking lot for NYC. Even the snow is dirty before it hits the ground. You from Jersey? What exit?

 :sarcastic:

MY across the street neighbor (western Colorado) had to go back to NJ to care for her mom. She happened to mention that her Dad (passed on) had .38 in the NJ house. OMG- get it out here fast. She smuggled it out of NJ, to her home here. I have it now as she is back in NJ caring for her mom. She did not realize that she would have been a felon had she been caught. All is well now, and she has since purchased a rifle and a shotgun, joined the NRA, and basically been Coloradoized. I've never been to New Jersey, but IMHO, the best way to see Jersey, Mass, Illinois etc is in the rear view mirror.

It`s a shame you can own a sidearm in NJ BUT you can NEVER get a CWP. When will the powers that be understand the guy who wants a CWP is the guy that gets trained, respects the firearm, and obeys the law.BUT yet they feel the need to restrict us. THe perp on the other hand WILL always find a gun to commit their crime. If you allow people to defend themself the perps would not look at victims as prey knowing that person might have some firepower .

I changed planes at Newark on my way to Ireland. On our final approach someone on the plane yelled out, "smells like Jersey" and everyone started laughing. I always wondered if it was really that bad. :D

They have always said,

Freedom isnt cheap, and you dont get it for nothing.
You paid your dues, and now your free, and ARMED Congrads.be safe, and enjoy your new found freedom.

Everyone said the guv there is good that he should be running for POTUS. If his territory is that bad along with the smell, then he is not a good guv'nor then if he cannot change the rules. confusing.

Anyway, welcome to this group..from Missouri.

Excuse me, but you didn't live in the arm pit of the United States. I did, 38 years in Cahokia, Illinois. It might have been in between the toes or the gooch, but I have dibs on the arm pit

Lots of liberal stuff in New Jersey. I live in Pennsylvania, but I still work in New Jersey, so carrying to work is not an option for me. Even the New Jersey income tax is "graduated," in other words, the more money you make, the more taxes you pay, hence that whole "fair share" myth. Pennsylvania has a flat and fair income tax. Pennsylvania's income tax is around 3.3%, but if you make over $500,000 in the Nanny Garden State, they sock you with a 9% income tax. The only way you get to pay 3% in New Jersey is if you make less than 30,000 a year! They wanted to make the tax even higher for milloinaires, but the Governor is against that. More of that Obama style class warfare. The funny things is all these rich people claiming that they should pay more taxes. What they don't tell you is that the government will always take more money from you voluntarily if you want to give to to them!

The instructors at Gun For Hire near Newark have CCW permits. I wonder how they obtained them.
