New Guy To The Forum That Is Exercising His Right To Carry A Concealed Weapon

Semper Fi!
Hi,

My name is Dennis. Thank you for allowing me to join this wonderful forum. I live in the St. Louis, Missouri region.

I received my concealed/carry permit about a month ago. I normally carry either a Ruger LCP .380 with laser or a Taurus .38 Special. Lately, it's been mostly the Taurus. I carry my weapon all day long, even when I'm at home. I want to get used to the feel of it on my person. It also makes me feel really safe...I recently moved to a new place in an area that I'm not real familiar, so it's nice having it on me all the time.

I am the father of 4 children; 3 boys and 1 girl. I have taught all 4 gun safety, how to handle a weapon, and how to shoot. My oldest son is taking his conceal/carry class later this month and my youngest son, who is 18, is joining the Air Force in June. As soon as he turns 21, he is going to get his license also.

I am a Marine Corps vet. I look forward to exploring this forum and hopefully being a contributing member.

Now I will quit rambling.

Thanks again.

Dennis

Welcome to the forum from KY (NCAA champs btw lol) Thank you for your service, glad to have you on board. I am am in Saint Louis Harbor a few times when I'm at work. Interesting area.

Thank you sir. I hope you could hear me hollering Monday evening for your team to win. On one of my set of brackets I had your team going all the way. I would love to ride the Mississippi from one end to the other someday, I bet that is pretty cool. Thanks for welcome.

Haha thanks for the support. I've only rode it from wickliffe not sure If cario is lower, to st Paul. Have rode the Illinois almost until chicago. Boats to big to go into it. Road a lot of the Ohio. It's different

That sounds really awesome! I'm curious, how much of trip is totally rural? I'd like to think a lot of it is, but I probably should wake up now...hahahahaha.

A large portion, mainly small towns if you can see anything from the river. The big cities are only a few, STL, the quad cities. Really about it for major
Places. I can't remember to much right now. I'll post later on next week when I'm back on the boat.

Thank you Tucker's Mom. I see that you're in St. Louis County. I just moved from Kirkwood to Fenton...I'm just over the line in Jefferson County. Your son is in the service, right? If so, thank him for me for his service.

Will do...I just wish he is with the marines instead or the airforce like my husband was...but the universities he applied with did not offer flying helicopters with an engineering degree. That is in the past now.

One of bucket list is to take a cruise down the Mississippi too...so good luck on that...one day you'll be able to do it too. I still do take some courses from the Kirkwood campus of St. Louis University. Great school. My next class is in two weeks' time.

Welcome to the forum! As a concealed carrier, watch out for the people on the forum who attack concealed carrying, the people who do it, and the reasons why they do it.

Thanks DesertEagle, I will do that. And thanks stingray2100, glad you like the name...I have had that name for quite a few years...it used to describe me to a T, but I have mended my ways. Thanks again.
