Who all found a new firearm under the Christmas tree this morning? Santa didn't leave me diddly squat again, dag nabbit.

Brother in law and nephew found brand new shotguns this morning. And santa found a house that he is hot water with because of the price. My sister is a tight wad

No new ones here. Got to worry about another puppy to pick up next month. But did get to see it yesterday for the first time.

Not for Christmas per say, but I had to buy an AR15 to put in my new Fat Boy, Jr. Which, BTW, I finally got. Had some worries about getting it downstairs. No safe movers locally. Well, Two Men and a Truck would have done it for a flat $450. SO, my stepson, a friend of his, my father-in-law and I winched it down the stairs with a jeep Wrangler parked cross-wise in the garage. Worked great, no injuries! Also got plenty of mags for it. I have a history of procrastinating and, being worried about a ban, was able to buy plenty at the old "normal" price!

My questions this, how do you convince your wife to buy you a gun for Christmas or bday. My brother in law and both sat around today discussing why we both came up empty handed. My wife says its to much of a headache to go down there and buy one and that she doesn't know what to look for even though we have specifically said this is what each of us wanted. I guess some of us got lucky in the wife department.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk so lay off the spelling criticism!!!

No guns sadly. Wanted a shotgun, got ear-pro though. When I opened that, I kinda figured...well you know, but disappointed lol, oh well. Got my eyes on one Ill probably buy this week.

No new ones for me (us).... BUT...

A very close friend of ours thoughtfully gave us a 'new' Army OD ammo can topped of with several rounds of 762.39, for our lil' Norinco SKS 'commie carbine', several more 762.54 for the '42 (my birth year) Mosin '91 that hangs proudly on my living room wall, and a box of Winnie .38spc +P's for Mrs Cracker's edc model 36 S&W.

Without doubt, one of most thoughtful, and appreciated gifts we have ever received.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and hopefully a happy coming New Year....

Stay vigilant, and stay safe y'all!

Nothing under the tree..

But, my wife went in and put money down on a S&W M&P .40 2-tone range kit for me. I'll be picking that up in about a week or so. Good holiday to spend with my family and friends. I hope everybody enjoyed there day of giving and receiving. Please be safe and enjoy the new year :-)

No guns but did get some new noise cancelling ears for the range.

Nothing for me but I have my wish list of the very few left to add to collection. I am very peticular on want I want to add to collection we already have. When we see one on the list when out and about if price is right it will come home. I did buy her a new target Ruger .22 MKIII bull barrel. Between Harleys and gun I will go broke. :)

Wife got me a Kahr CM40. But it's going back. FS and clean/lube, damn thing wouldn't reassemble. Slide doesn't rack smoothly. Probably trade it for a Glock 36 or 17. Shame too, the CM is nice and slim perfect for pocket carry.

No new guns but, my when my Son came over he talked me into getting out my old Marlin 22 cal semi auto rifle. I bought this new back in 1976 I think. I was 16. no one was worried about youngsters having guns back then like they do now. I think I paid about $39. for it.LOL Any way we knocked out a few dozen rounds before dinner. What a blast, I had forgot how much fun that thing is.l ended up tearing it down for a good cleaning. It works better than ever now.I think I'll be getting it out more often now.

Just about as far back as my memory goes I can remember "plinking" with my dad. It started out that we would go for a walk through the open countryside (okay, desert :-)) with him carrying his .22 bolt action, and us taking turns with shoots of opportunity: stumps, sticks, cans, whatever... When I was 13-14, he let me buy my own rifle. I picked out a semi-auto, although he couldn't understand why a bolt action wasn't good enough - was I just trying to burn up ammunition faster? Why, .22 shorts were over 50 cents a box! It was also our practice with the bolt action to not put a live round in the chamber until we were ready to take the shot. (My memory remembers the safety on that rifle being somewhat unreliable, but, when I tried it the other day, it was rock-solid...) My rifle set my back around $50; they want $40 for the detachable 7-shot magazine now. We spent many hours strolling along plinking without ever killing anything or putting holes in anything of value, although the occasional illegal dump site we came across was a treasure-trove of targets.

Well, all this means to you readers is that I'm old... But, it's been an opportunity for letting me relive precious memories! Thanks for letting me do that.
