New CWP in SC

I have had my Concealed Weapons Permit for only a few months now. Both my wife and I have ours and I carry on a daily basis, while she usually carries depending on the situation. I welcome any and all info on Concealed carrying and hints, tricks, tips, etc.. Thank you in advance!

State?

In what state do you live? It changes the discussion drastically. Obviously you have a CCW permit and legally carry. Just curious.

New CWP in SC pretty much tells the story!

Anyhow, Jcrider, don't carry in resturants that serve liquor for consumption. I assume your instuctor already pointed out that particular point but it seems to be a subject of controversy here, and if here, I'm sure everywhere.

If your wife keeps hers in her purse make sure she keeps it on her and holds on tight. I would recommend she carries on her person. Lots of snatchers out there. Don't want to give them a weapon and your money.

i live in sc and i carry everywhere except goverment offices i carry in resturants its concealed nobody knows my teacher told us that sled were telling the leo's to kind of ignore if in a resturant printing, just to talk to and check his cwp so i carry everywhere

Yes, I don't get the 'in the purse' thing but then I never grew attached to a purse so I can not really relate:):)

I don't understand your confidence in posting your illegal actions on a public forum.

Do you think you are anonymous?

In any case, I guess you helped make the point I tried to make in my first post.

Hey tommustangii: One problem with what he told you about restaurants. If for some reasom you end up using your firearm, the leo may not care, but the person you shot and their family may want to know how you still have a firearm on you after leaving a restaurant where, by law, you were not suppose to have same--quite frankly you will be watching your family fortune go down the drain. LEO may look away but you were breaking the law and will now pay dearly (IMO)

Yeah, whats the point of having one when if you use it, your going to jail. Yeah, yeah, I know, rather be tried by 9 then carried by 6.

You are tried on whether you broke the law, not whether it saved your life or not.

I'm to the point now that I would rather be dead and my wife have my life insurance that rotting in jail with no income for my family.

I know that sounds crass but I'm just NOT gonna break the law.

You are tried on whether you broke the law, not whether it saved your life or not.

That is not always true. There is the legal principal of neccessity which says that a person is justified in breaking any law, if the neccessity of saving life or other extraneous circumstances warranted it. For example, you and your 12 your old son are hiking in the woods and you fall and bash your head on a rock. The 12 year old son would be justified in driving you to a hospital violating driver's licensing laws if he did so in order to save you from death or grave injury.

Now... in the instance of carrying in a prohibited place, the principle of neccessity would usually not apply, even if you only got caught because of a self defense shooting, because at the time of the initial infraction - when you entered the restaurant carrying the firearm under normal circumstances - the neccessity did not exist.

I wonder how many gun toting criminals don't take their guns into a restaurant that serve alcohol? The point is, individuals need to decide where to carry

Yeah, like someone is gonna have a 12 year old kid on trial for saving his dad's life. Like it would even go to court.

Why interject when you have nothing relevent to say? My statement was 'You are tried on whether you broke the law', not 'when you break the law, you are going to trial'

Have you nothing constructive to do, like protecting the US against all enemies foreign and domestic?

& What are the Self-Defense Rules in SC???

In a place you have a right to be,
Not involved in ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
Use of Deadly Force is necessary to prevent violent crime (and your attorney can convince the jury)

If you have no badge authorizing carry, and you are inside an establishment serving spirits for consumption, YOU ARE INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.

Rather than flaunt the fact that you, Tom, Mustang driver from Pelzer, feel you are above the laws the rest of us have to work within, Why not work with us to at least make it appear that CWP holders are in fact LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS.

Please do us the favor of outing your instructor, too.

Heh??? Please?

Oh... Welcome to USA Carry! As you can see a couple of the folks like to stick to the letter of the law.

My advice: Read everything, tell NO ONE! And you will see this comment soon enough... Concealed means concealed!

The time she does not carry the weapon is the time she will need it!

Thank you for becoming responsible citizens of our state!
