My wife and I just bought a new car with all the stuff happening in Florida I think it is best for her to have a gun at least in her car. We are under 21 but in Texas the law does not say that you must be 21 to keep a pistol in your car. Only that it must be "under your control" my Sigma will not fit in the center console and I don't feel comfortable with it being in the globe box. Naturally I am more concerned with her safety than mine but I really do want my pistol back. Please give any suggestions you can think of as long ad it is 9mm or above. She does not like small guns but needs something smaller than my Smith and Wesson sigma. Thank you in advance and GOD BLESS TEXAS

S&W or Ruger wheel gun. No thought as to how to use it, fires every time you pull the trigger, no safety, no wondering whether there is one in the chamber and as small as it gets.

I think you are approaching the issue backwards. First find a firearm with which she is compatible. Then find an in-car storage solution for that firearm.

My wife carries a Sig 380 and we were thinking about a Bodyguard 380 until she got her hands on an M&P 9c We are going to the range tomorrow to rent one so she can get a feel for it before buying but I'm pretty sure that is her new carry. I have the 40c and full size and love them. Not as small as it sounds like you are looking for, take her to the range and let her try several options and see what she is comfortable with.

Can you specify what she wants in a gun? Size, grip, recoil, caliber....? Budget?
