i like to know from anyone who has experience with kahr pm9, kahr pm 40, ruger lc9, or springfield xds. i have narrowed my choice down but not limited to these pistols for my ccw. any info on how you carry them and comfort of carrying them in apprecatied. Im new to actually concealed carrying and looking around. only thing i know for certain is i dont not want 380 auto. Dont like the round just my opinion. thanks for any info.

Only one I have shot is the xd .45 full size. It's my brothers, he carries owb fairly well. Good shooter 13 rounds of 45acp is nice too.

I have both a Ruger LC9 and a Springfield XD sub-compact 9mm. While the size of the LC9 is nice for a pocket gun, the trigger pull is a bit long. And quite frankly, the gun is not that much fun to shoot on the range either. On the other hand, the Springfield is an amazing handgun. I use a Crossbreed IWB holster and once you get use to the holster and it breaks in for a bit, you hardly know you have it on. Plus, this gun is a pleasure to shoot too. I have probably shot at least 2,000 rounds through this gun without a single issue.

And if anyone tells you a 9mm is not enough gun, ask them if they want to stand in front of it when you shoot it. I doubt if you will have any takers.

I have the Springfield XDM 9MM 3.8. I love the feel of this weapon and have no problems concealing it. Just my two cents.

I carry the Springfield XDM compact .45 and it is awesome. Only advice I would give before you buy the XDS is to look at the overall specs compared to the XDM compact as they are almost the same and you gain 2 rounds with the XDM.

Ill look into the xdm . I really like the thinness of the xds reason i like it. Going to this weekend try to lay my hands on all of them. See what I like if everything permits.

I have many of the guns you listed... My BEST piece of advice I give to everyone, go shoot them. EVERYONE is different. go shoot some guns, whatever you're most comfortable with, buy. Guns are funny for me, if I don't like the way they fit in my hand I don't shoot them well.

With that being said, I own glocks, XDs, XDM's, LCP, and more, in many many many different calibers. all are good guns. go to the range and rent some guns, then make your choice.

whatever you decide on, make sure to show us some pictures... we're all gun nerds here.. show and tell!! :)

As we all know there are more reliable weapons than others. You have a good idea when you narrow your decision down to reliable weapons, then go to the range and get the feel of what is right for you. The right feel for me was the glock 19 for CCW. Happy shopping and let us know what you decide.

I have the sub compact XD 9mm and the compact XD 40. I use the SC XD for carry in a Crossbreed holster and I can not tell it is there. I love this gun.

I have shot about 3,000 rounds thru my XD9SC without any problem at all, I would consider that a good thing to say abut a carry gun. Holds a reasonable number of rounds and is concealable with a bit of effort. Easy breakdown and shoots well. I am perfectly happy with it.

I had a pm9 and no matter how i drew the gun i would alwas hit the mag release pocket draw and 4:00 iwb i have large hands but i dont have thos problem with any of my other smaller guns this was a huge problem for me so i sold it it was just the way it was shaped not a firearm flaw just my experince Somthing to consider

You really should look into the Ruger SR series. Have both SR9c and an SR40c. The 9 is for practice, the 40 is for carry, and have an LCP for those "OH, gotta run to the store" moments.

Lol. Wow I love shooting been doing since kids. I was read some post to my gf and she said some are worse than her with shoes. Lol. All playful. I do appreciate all Yalls suggestions. If you know of anymore models I need to look into I be thankful. Allergies and sinuses kicked butt this weekend so I didn't get to go looking as hoped. Btw happy Easter.

I have or have had each of the weapons you listed, in addition a Glock 26 and 27, and Ihave shot a friends LC9, the LC9 is great for concealed carry but thats about it, its kind of uncomfortable to shoot, not bad but the trigger will screw up even the best shooter, at least till you got used to it, the Glocks are fine but without mag extentions the grips to small, the SRs are great shooting guns, but even the C models are kind of big for CC, right now I'm carrying a XD-9 SC, shoots flawless, tryed a couple diff holsters till I got one thats comfortable, .........on that note, there are some that say your gun is supposed to be comforting, not nessessarly comfortable, but if its really iritateing to ware, you will not ware it

I haven't seen any recommendations on the Kahr. I have the new CW9 on my hip now and it is my current favorite. If you have the chance rent a Kahr. This 9mm is softer shooting than most of the 380s I have owned and just as small.

...and have an LCP for those "OH, gotta run to the store" moments.

I love my little LCP for just those occasions, OR if I'm going for a run to the gym or something. I have a DeSantis pocket holster that is awesome, It has a silicone-ish outer layer that sticks to the inside of my pocket, so if I want to unholster, only the gun comes out... Works great even in athletic shorts. it's called a Desantis "Nemesis". another holster I have for the LCP is the Desantis "pocket shot"..

I know I know, wrong thread to post this kind of stuff... couldn't help myself.
