Good afternoon to all.. As I am not new to this site. I have enjoyed for about a year good reading and valuable info here from the more experienced contributors to this forum. But today I need your help. I'm looking into upgrading the sights on my Glock 22, want to replace them with night sights, would like some feed back on what to go with, I was leaning toward Meprolight Tru-Dot and if anyone could share there knowlegde with color would be best yellow/ orange or green front sight with rear yellow or green or green front & green rear.. Your input will be appreciated on this, Thanks to all in advance.. :secret: I CC all the time and OC for work and find myself in low light setting most of the time.

I don't know what's best for you. I put green front/rear Meprolight Tru-Dots on the .45 I leave out at night. I chose green because the forums pretty much all said green was the brightest. The Tru-Dots have enough white material on the sights to be visible in the daytime and in pitch darkness are very, very bright. I chose the "slant" version because they had the same shape as the stock black sights they replaced and I don't need adjustable sights. I tried two other brands of sights before the Meprolights and in my opinion it was a waste of $200+, they were not bright enough for my eyes. But I know people who swear by their Trijicons or Ameriglos, so as in all things your mileage may vary.

Thanks Bill, I really appreciate your input. After your comment and some more research on-line, I will definitely take your advice and I'm going with the Meprolight Tru-Dots front & rear green sights.

I had Orange / Yellow sights installed on my GEN4 Glock 23, they worked great. I got them because they where on sale and cheaper then the Green/Green sights. All of my handguns have night sights on them and just about all of them are Trijicon sights. I did find the yellow and orange to be a little dimmer then the green, but nothing major. You really only need to be able to see your front sight anyways, some people put the dimmer colors(yellow, orange etc...) as rear sights and the brighter green for the front sight. So their eye is drawn right to the front sight at night. Green/green works fine, but sometimes the bright rear drowns out the front for a second or two. Even more so if your new to using night sights. Your going to want some kind of gas filled night sight Vs a fiber optic or glow in the dark night sight. Tritium sights stay on all the time so you don't have to worry about charging them with a light before use.

Are the sights for a CC firearm, night stand gun, or work use? If they are for work is it security guard work, LEO, or PI work?

I would recommend different colors in front and rear. It will be slightly easier and quicker to get a good site picture. Specially in the stress you will feel in a real situation.
