NEED HELP! Moved from Michigan to Florida recently...

I recently relocated from Michigan to Florida. I still have my Michigan driver's license and I have my Michigan CPL. I've seen the maps and what not, however, I am seeking reassurance and answers to some other questions.

1) Can I legally cc here in Florida?

2) If I were to get a Florida driver's license, do I need to get a FL cpl?

3) Can I purchase a firearm here in Florida, or would I need to have a Florida driver's license?

4) Anything else I might be missing or not thinking of?

I'm sure these questions have been answered close to 2146567 times, but I'm just asking around because I'd much rather the piece of mind I would get from someone explaining to me rather then misunderstanding something I read.

1) No. Your Michigan CPL is invalid in Florida because you are no longer a Michigan resident. See Florida Statute 790.015.

2) If you want to carry a concealed handgun in Florida, you need to get a Florida CPL because you are now a Florida resident. You must obtain a Florida Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Florida anyway. See Florida Statute 322.031.

3) Yes, you can purchase a firearm in Florida without a Florida driver's license.

4) See answer to 2) above. Get the Florida driver's license and Florida CPL if you want to comply with Florida law. If you are active duty military with orders to Florida, then it's a different situation.

Funny, I told him to get a Florida CPL and driver's license. He shows those to Florida police officer, how could he possibly be breaking the law?

That said, yes, it is always very good advice to look up the law.

You do not need a Fl. DL to get a CWF license. All you have to do is provide proof of residency.
I got mine without it or FL. ID.

My only problem w/ you pulling up the statutes every time some one asks is that you are doing research that they need to be doing for them selves and encouraging the "Soem guy on the internet told me " behavior

I wholeheartedly agree. I just thought it was funny that the comment, "But officer, I posted this question on a concealed carry web forum, and some guy told me it was ok!" would have been made, in this particular instance, in response to a Florida LEO asking why the OP had a Florida driver's license and a Florida carry license while living in Florida .
