Need advice Traveling?

Hi, I am new to the board and need some advice. I have searched online and cant find the answer. My question: I am a Virginia resident and DO NOT have a concealed carry permit. I will be traveling via car to South Carolina and want to take my handgun. Do I need anything special to travel through North Carolina with the handgun in the car/trunk?

In NC your firearm must be in the luggage/trunk area of the vehicle or fully exposed. Unlike SC you can not carry your loaded firearm in the console or golve compartment. This site may help Link Removed

Correct. There is nothing in NC law prohibiting the carrying of handguns that aren't concealed in a vehicle.
