Need a good single mag pouch for S&W Sigma

I currently have a nylon double magazine pouch and its a little too big to wear comfortably, i was wondering if anyone can recommend me a solid single magazine pouch. I do not know if paying extra here gets you more or if there are any popular choices.

Need it for one of my 14 round S&W Sigma .40 cal magazines.

Maybe someone can recommend me a better double mag pouch that holds them closer together?

Just looking for some ideas.

google a website knife store called Smokey Mountain Knives and do a search
on Sheaths. No kidding, all of the knive sheaths that hold knives with folded lengths
of 5.25 or 5.5 inches will hold an extra long magazine. The knife sheaths that hold
4 and seven eights or 5 inch knives will hold 1911 mags just fine. They come in nylon,
vinyl and leather and none cost more than 5 or 6 bucks. Some only cost 2 bucks.
The side benefit is they look like knive sheaths instead of mag pouches.

I have three sheaths and fist got the idea by trying the sheath on some of my folding
hunting knives. specifically the case XX Hunter knife and the std Trapper knife..

Take a look at the leather CASE knife sheath attachment. I have this one but the
nylon knife sheaths to me are much smaller and thinner and not quite so tight
a fit on a double stack 9mm magazine. If a double stack 40 is a little wider than
a 9mm then the quality leather sheaths might be too tight.

In another forum I showed them a knife at the website above that only cost
$7.99 and it came with a terrific nylon sheath. Look for Folding Hunter knifes.

I realize that is a tuckable mag carrier and justified if you need to conceal it under a shirt
but $35 is steep I think. At that point I would just carry in my pocket. I think it would
be easier to get it out of my pocket than from under my shirt.

Did you notice that many of the holsters now have an attached mag pouch ?

I have a holster that has a build in magazine carrier, but its a cheapo i got off ebay made of nylon and i just think i can do a lot better. It doesn't conceal very well.

I have not personally seen any of the good holsters that also have the magazine carrier attached. I was looking at going with something like a Crossbreed Supertuck holster or even maybe that Galco high ride i saw.

Its steep at $90 though

Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters

This is what I have on order in the say of holsters with mag pouches.

This is just to free up a front pocket where currently I carry a mag in nylon knife sheath
with spare change.

In my other pocket I carry my car keys.

I didn't really see anything there in the mag pouch section. Only saw a few sheaths and nothing looked right for sure.

I use Maxpedition's Double Mag retention (two mag holders on a velcro pad) in my CCW jacket, and the Triple Mag Holder in my briefcase. I also use a Single sheath for belt carry. The sheaths are adjustable for length and the right width/depth for double stack mags. Elastic in the sides of the sheath makes it snug up to either 9mm or .45 mags.

Well i found a free sheath that i have had in my closet for years. Two of them actually.

I purchased a huge knife set on the TV years back and got a bunch of crappy chinese made knifes from Frost Cutlery along with the knives i actually wanted, and the only ones i didn't like were some cheap 5 inch knifes called "The Tracker", which had a decent blade but cheap locking mechanism and handle.

I pulled them out of the closet and had 2 of them with brand new nylon sheaths that perfectly fit my magazines! So i can carry a single mag with my free sheath and 2 if i really wanted.

Theres a pic of the knife and the sheath it has

I like the knife sheath idea, i can carry extra rounds but it just looks like a have a folder on my belt instead of a magazine

Well my cheap nylon sheaths are ripping apart, all 3 of them are taking a beating under the weight of a fully loaded magazine; clearly not what they were intended to do.

I have been keeping one of them together with strategically placed batches of gorilla glue and some luck.

If anyone has any more or new recommendations for me, i am looking for a single magazine pouch that is going to hold together that looks like its made for a folding knife, leather or nylon i just want one that is quality at a reasonable price.

Any links are appreciated !

I like the paddle type of mag holders - as well as paddle holsters for the gun too. Mine are by Fobus.

There all kinds of creative ways to search for knive sheaths in their catalog
along with knives WITH sheaths. Considering that a magazine is or should not
be much heavier than a steel knife, I believe an unraveling sheath could
be the subject of a warranty claim at least for some of the better knives.
There are also the choice of leather knife sheaths as I have some for
CASE and SCHRADE that are well made and likely to last forever.

I also have knives with Marlin and Winchester markings that have some
apparently well made and heavy duty nylon sheaths.

The other option is the nylon sheaths used by some of the belt tools
mostly pliers and multitools and they are very well made as least
the name brand ones are.
