NC CCW / Underage Possession of Alcohol Charge (not conviction)

I live in North Carolina and want to get my CCW. 2 years ago when I was 19 I was charged with underage possession of alcohol in Virginia. (My friend was giving me a ride home after I had 1 beer and he got pulled for rolling a stop sign, I blew a 0.02) I ended up opting to take a Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program class and the charged was wiped from my record. I'm a law abiding citizen and this was my one slip up. Will this effect my ability to get a CCW permit in North Carolina?

I emailed my local sheriff's office but I figured I'd ask on here while I'm waiting to hear back from them. I just want to check on this before I shell out the money for the class and the permit application fees. I'd really appreciate any input.

Its very unlikely that will disqualify you. Let us know what response you get from the sherrif.

I haven't heard back from the Sheriff but I talked to the instructor for the CCW class I'm going to take. He said it will not be a problem.

I can't see how that would be a problem, I've know several people with DUI's on their record and they qualified. So, in your case where you did your time in the class and your record was wiped clean...you should be clean and green.

Just FYI, in NC, a DUI within the past 3 years will disqualify you.
