No, the article is trying to blame the Navy Yard shooting on the lack of religion or some BS in peoples lives, and that is NOT the cause.
At the same time the anti-gun crowd are blaming evil guns.
The reality is that NEITHER is the cause, the cause is mental illness of a single individual. The anti's want to ban all guns under the stupid belief that will eliminate violence, while other want to impose more religion to achieve the same results. Both are on a fools errand.
The mentally ill often seek help (the Navy Yard shooter did several times) and was ignored and given a pill. When the system fails, the outcome is predictable, and often tragic. The Sandy Hook shooter was also loony tunes, and the system failed him and his parents also, as was Gabby Gifford shooter, etc., etc., etc.
