my mom and guns

me and my mom got our concealed carry licenses at the same time but she does not want to practice with the gun that me and my dad got for her and I'm a little worried that she might have an accident with her gun. we bought her a .357 revolver because it will shoot both .357 and .38s. she thinks that should she have to use her gun she would be able to with out ever practicing with it. any advice would be welcome on this matter.

Take the gun away and give her a rock. Its just as useful to someone who doesn't know how to use the gun.

And less likely to kill an innocent bystander.

Take that gun away from her, and get her to a range that rents. Let her try different guns until she finds one she'd be willing to practice with. .357 packs quite a punch and probably isn't much fun to shoot, especially if you got her an airweight. The biggest problem is probably that you and your dad picked the gun, not her!

After that, send her to a class, and let someone "official" tell her that she needs to practice in order to be safe. Heck, take the class with her. Make it a family thing.

She likes the gun, but won't practice with it.

She doesn't like the gun, or guns.

I know you don't want to hear this, but she is a danger to herself and others if she does not practice. It might cost her life, in a SD situation.

You are her son. Time to get to the bottom of this.
