My experience today at our local store

11am opening, line at the door.

Got in and it was a feeding frenzy. Rifles were flying off the shelf. Couples purchasing multiple rifles. I got one of two AK47 left in the store. I got in at 11:01 and said I will buy it about 15 mins later, and I was still in line behind 7 background checks.

I was happy to find 5.56 ammo which you can't seem to find online (unless you want to pay $1/round) at the moment and was still priced as it has been for the last few months.

Magazines were still in good supply, but everyone was grabbing handfuls of the AR15 30rds.

The poor store owner looked whooped and this was the first hour. Phone would not stop ringing.

This was before Obama's appointment of Biden.

Funny note: an officer was there and a call came out for assault with a broom. The officer commented that now they'll ban brooms and everyone will swarm for those.

I went to my local gunshop today as well, they had been open for an hour. Very similar except for the broom incident, that's funny. They have been none stop and are out of anything to do with AR's, guns, magazines, accessories. Still had plenty of pistols and shot guns. They too have been extremely busy. they have many more weapons on order and should be back in supply in about thirty days unless the government interferes. This has been a good year for the gun shops....

Yeah. Same here in Ga. Went to the gun store. The shop owners were smiling at the last several AR's saying they'd be gone in a couple hours.

:bad:The only difference between a lot of ASSAULT WEAPONS is the stock. There are a lot of semi-autos that have sproterized stocks, and then the same internal workings with a foldable stock, pistol grip, extended magazine becomes an assault weapon. Gun control laws are not going to affect the criminals except that they will have more sheep to plunder because the sheep dogs are being caged.

I went to the shop near my house last night, it was packed! People all over the racks of ARs, AKs, HKs and Galils! The emploees were rushing around like crazy, there were cops in there showing people the best ARs to get, people in there with their kids(me included... Mom wasn't off work so I take the lil ones w/ me) and almost no lines but just gaggles of people waiting to pay.

During lunch I went to one near the base and it was the same thing. Most of their stock was gone, pistol cases almost empty and only two AKs, two ARs and four SKSs left when I walked in... people all over the place and the employees rushing around. They did have about a dozen cases of ammo though, .223 & 7.62x39 1000K of steel case Tula... $350-$400 each.

Gotta be honest though, it makes me happy to see it.

I went into D**k's Sporting Goods this afternoon and could not believe they took all their ar variants off the racks. They even took the 22 models down, the Mossberg 22 that looks like an ar and those 22 GSGs that look like MP5s. They even removed all their Bushnaster mags and Troy defense mags and replaced them with gun cases. It makes me sick that they would sell them one day and then be hypocritical because of an incident that they had no control over. Over black friday I bought a Troy carbine from then, wow what a few weeks does. Sickening, I will never go there again! At least there was no line.

Same story here in central Washington (State not DC). The local Cabala's store is sold out of AR style rifles, PMAGs, etc and my favorite gun store is down to his last few AR rifles. At my Cabala's store one of the employees told me that the only AR they had left today was a used Colt that sold quickly for over $1,900.

Afterthought: does that make a broom an assault weapon?

Of course not! That's because the broom was actually used in an assault - unlike the "assault weapons" they want to ban which are hardly ever used in assaults and murders. And in addition, most murders are committed with much less than 10 rounds. The anti-gun groups don't care about stopping crime or the victims of crime.

Well, not sure about that broom, but I've been protecting myself with an assault pitchfork for years now.

I too went down to the only gun shop left in our area within driving distance today and to say the least, it was wild! I had been in there Saturday to get a Ruger LC9 and though it was busy then, but no comparason to today. I did overhear a conversation between a potential buyer and one of the clerks about why the ARs had gone up from $1195 on Saturday to $1695 today. Clerk said it was supply and demand, and the owner would not come down on the price on the last six that were available. They would sell at that price, and indeed four of the six did in the 20 minutes I was in the store. Pistol sales were brisk as well. The cashier, who is a friend of my son's, said that there were "a whole lot of first time gun buyers coming in and making purchases" as well.

That's how she got her concussion. Somebody stole her broom while she was on it!!!

Do you know why Hillary doesn’t ware panties while she’s riding on her broom? It gives her a better grip on the broom handle. I know it's a bad joke, but I still laugh when ever I visualize it.

Went to two gunshops today here. One completely sold out of ar/ak stuff, weapons, ammo, mags. Went to a newer, less known store and bought the last two cases of 5.56. Son and I also ordered what seemed to be the last three AR lower parts kits on the 'net! Sure not much choice right now. I'm sure glad they have an objective, intelligent person heading up the "gun oversight study" in the form of VP Biden!
