My change of View

I have recently changed my view towards my handguns.

I decided I want only three good guns which are good to carry. So I sold all my other guns (2 9mm's, and a .380) and kept only the three guns I will carry. House gun? I keep mine all loaded so if you break in I will surprise you with which I shoot.

The guns I kept are my Bersa Thunder .32, Bersa Thunder .380, and Ruger SR9c 9mm.

All these guns are excellent to carry IWB, easy to conceal.

PS: I may buy a pocket .32 also

I've been thinking about downsizing as well for similar reasons...I just can't help but feel I will have sellers remorse...

Have you second guessed yourself yet?

Thx, now I know how many guns u have. Good idea.

I am happy with my decision, no second guessing. The guns I now have are all good shooters and I trust them completely.
Unless you are a collector I believe at sometime you have to come to grips with a certain amount of guns to keep. To me it was a matter of having good carry guns and a easy choice to make.

Great your made your daily troll comment . Go **** YOUR SELF DUDE

I've been trying to downsize & consolidate calibers some myself. My plan is to get down to one CC & bug each for my wife & I. (Same caliber & brand so we can use each others mags & ammo in a SHTF situation) I also want us to have two ARs and one good combat SG.

I do plan on keeping a NEA single shot 22lr/410 combo as well. (I figure that little gun may become my best friend if we ever get to the point of having to take small game in order to survive.)

One can never have to many guns.
If they do nothing but take up space in the safe they are still a solid investment.

Favorites are always best within close reach :)

I agree with you in principle, but the term "investment" implies an eventual profit on your money.
If you aren't making money on the deal, it isn't an investment.

I never purchase a firearm with the intention of selling it. For me, they definitely aren't an investment.
In fact if I have my way I'll shoot them enough to wear them out.

But it's money well and lovingly spent!

I respectfully disagree. Monetary value is not the only investments in life. If shtf at some point in our lives, firearms will be far more valuable than anything else, including paper, for more reasons than just monetary value.

Very good. I spoke with a US Marshall the last time I went to the range. He made the following point that made me start thinking about consolidating, "if shtf and you have to leave, how many guns are you going to grab?" Will I have the time and space to take 10, 20, 30+ guns? Or will that all be a wasted investment when I could of spent that same amount of money on high quality firearms and ammo?

Then again it might be smarter to bug in...

I too keep feeling like I should sell the majority of my firearms and buy a nice rifle, shotgun, and two handguns, per person in my household. Trying to keep caliber and magazines as related as possible. Anything more and I must sell a firearm first.

I believe most gun owners go thru a certain amount of trial and error with guns. Until they realize which guns they shoot well and fit them best. I simply realized I wanted a few guns suited for carry which would also serve as home defense. I do not care how many guns you have and you do not have to tell me. I am simply trying to make a point on what my view is on owning firearms now. As I said I did have more guns but realized there was no real purpose for them all. Decided I did not just want to own a bunch of guns, I want guns with a purpose. I do not say I will never buy another gun, but if I do buy any it will be for a purpose, not just to say I own it.

I have only ever NOT regretted selling or trading a gun ONCE, an extra High Standard Tournament I used before I bought my Citation.

I had a Colt Official Police when I was in the Army in the '80s. I traded it for something else. After all, what moron thinks Colt would ever stop making double-action revolvers...?
