Must see movie... ATLAS SHRUGGED

I will wait till it comes out on DVD and watch it while I'm working out. I have been trying to get through the book for a year. I get the premise it's just the writing is just too dry

Should be interesting. I read somewhere that 86% of the public who viewed it liked it; only 7% of the critics did.

I enjoyed the book. The preview appears to have the action in a modern setting. Parts of the book don't fit with today's technology. I wonder how that will be handled in the next two parts.

Saw the movie Saturday afternoon at the 210 showing. Initially 12-15 people seated. By the time the new movie trailers started the show was nearly sold out. I hope this spreads like wild fire. Excellent message, extremely relevant to today's events in Government and over all society.
Lets hope that more see it and takes the time to read the Book. The individual makes Society, not the other way around.

"Atlas Shrugged" is way too deep for the average movie goer.

I've been a fan of Ayn Rand all my life. I actually think "The Fountainhead" is a better work than "Atlas Shrugged". It's a smoother read and the frustration of the individual is demonstrated better...IMHO.

For those who would like to see the range of Rand's mind, I recommend a small book entitled, "Anthem". It was written way back in the 30's and is very conceptual. It will scare you with its prophecy.

As an aside, I retired from an executive level position where I had many people working for me. I used to give newly hired managers two totally unrelated books..."Anthem" and "The One Minute Manager". Both are fairly old and very short "reads". It was easy to see who actually read them and who didn't.

My signature says my position on this matter. We the Living was a great read as well but very dark but that was the time back then in Soviet Block. If you can get past Ayn's atheist view points she has mountains to say about humanity as a whole. Wish I would have found out about her prior to reaching my forties years ago. Probably would have made a big difference in my directions and choices.
