(THE WASHINGTON TIMES) — A 20-year-old woman was beaten to death and her husband beheaded by members of her own family in a horrific honor killing Wednesday in India.

Nidhi Barak, 20, and Dharmender Barak, 23, both students, were killed in Gharnavati village in the Indian state of Haryana as onlookers watched, the Daily Mail reported.

The couple had eloped earlier in the week because their families didn’t approve of the relationship. The girl’s parents then allegedly duped the two into believing a wedding ceremony was waiting for them when they returned home.

Police said the couple were tortured for several hours at Mrs. Barak’s home before she was beaten to death in full public view, the Daily Mail reported.

Mr. Barak was beaten and his arms and legs broken, before he was beheaded. His body was allegedly dumped at a public square, and the girl’s body was reportedly cremated on a pyre by her family.

That right there is some "Stuff". They want our Guns, but in other countries they beat Newlyweds to death.
 
I never hear in the news of ANY American muzzie group or spokesperson or even in European country that denounces any of these barbaric actions. The punishment for any honor killing anywhere should be publically defiling the person committing the atrocity by burying them in a hole up to their neck with the pit they are in filled with pig carcasses and waste. Then let a firing squad made up of "infidels" kill the murderers. A further penalty could be to first break as many bones in the condemned as were broken in the original victim. A few public death penalties would make the 12th century barbarians understand that this is not condoned in the 21st century.
-----The thing that is so astounding in this is that the daughter's beating and man's beating and deaths were committed publically which indicates at least tacit approval of the punishment by local tribal or muzzie leaders. There have been cases in recent years where the local muzzie leaders had ordered the punishment as required by Sharia law. This is why our legal system can never accept sharia law for any of our court decisions nor allow it to be implemented. If the muzzie communities want to use sharia law, get out of the US and go to one of the backwards countries that allow it.

Please tell me in that story where these people were Muslim? I went to the Daily Call and read the original article. It mentioned that the couple were of the same caste. Caste is a Hindu term, not Muslim. India is predominantly a Hindu population, not Muslim.

Yes, this is an atrocious act and even the parents' village denounced the act and did not support the honor killing. So, it's incredibly bad when a society that accepts honor killings doesn't accept one. But I really hate it when journalists don't get their facts straight.

Yes, it's wrong. I made one error... the original article was found in the Daily Mail, not the Daily Call, and here is the original article that the one Opsspec's article used for its info:

Note where it speaks of the caste the family was from. If the article references the caste of a family, then that family is Hindu, not Muslim. Therefore, Opspecs article title is wrong.
 
Many people don't realize that often Indian women are subjected to more abuse than Muslim women. Both cultures are equally oppressive for no reason; the Hindu religion reveres women and many of their important deities are goddesses, and apparently Mohammad instructed his followers to treasure women. The things people do in the name of religion or "honor..." What is honorable in beating women to death or beheading tortured, broken men?

There is nothing honorable about it, and it disgusts me. In India there are approximately 1000 honor killings a year, which is atrocious.

But those in this country that have a love for hating Muslims will even describe something that is so obvious to be a Hindu family, Muslim too.

Many in this forum find it reprehensible that organizations and people tell lies or distort facts for their personal agenda when that agenda goes against ours. I find it equally reprehensibly no matter whose side your on. This is why I try to fact check every thing I read that sounds "off".
