Moving from NH to FL - Best Way to Move Handgun?

Hi - I recently moved out of NH this past December to Florida. The move was originally going to be a 3 month stay but after getting a new job down here, I will be staying permanently. All of my belongings, including the handgun, is located in a storage unit in NH. In April, I will be going back to NH to retrieve my things and either U-Haul them myself or get a moving company (like U-Pack) to move things for me. I have a handgun carry permit in NH and I know the license is reciprocal with FL, but if I change my drivers license to FL before I go back, will this be an issue? I don't have a residency anymore in NH but haven't changed my license or vehicle over yet, but I would like to do that sooner than later since my registration has already run out on my car. What is the best way to get my gun legally to FL in this case? Obviously transporting the gun through many of those northeastern states (and their strict laws) doesn't seem like a great option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
