mouse gun of choice

About to "pull the trigger" on a new mouse gun...Considering Beretta Nano, Ruger LCP & Sig P 238\P290...any thoughts???

Haven't held the Nano or the P290. For me, comfort is a big deal. I could not find a firearm larger than the LCP/P238/P380 (Khar)/SW Bodyguard that would fit comfortably in my front pockets when I was searching for a mouse gun.

P238 is a great mouse gun. (+1)

LCP is also a good mouse gun.

I recently got to handle a P938. That firearm did comfortably fit in my pocket, and I could see firearms with similar dimensions like the Nano would also fit in my pocket. The price of the P938 is disappointingly high though...

I have tried any of the ones you mentioned but have had a Sig P230 for years and has always been reliable, also very much like my LC9.

I personally hate the term 'mouse gun', it's an inappropriate term i.m.h.o.

I'm pretty sure that even a .380 is too big of a caliber for shooting mice & rats.
Seems that b.b. guns or pellet guns would be far more appropriatly titled 'mouse guns'.

I prefer to call my LCP my own personal "James Bond Gun" because it's concealable enough to even wear with a Tuxedo.

Trusted my LCP but sold it in favor of the LC9. Let us know which one you decide.

Outlaw? You own a tuxedo? Do you put all that hair back in a pony tail for the "big" evening?

i'd like to test fire the rugerlc9 how is the trigger on that gun. i don't want a gun with a sensitive trigger

If money is not in the equation then hands down the Sig p238. A 'mini' 1911 that can handle +P, fits nicely in your pocket, great looking and it is a Sig!

I had an LCP and had no issues. I currently have a Nano as my daily carry and I have to say it is amazing. It is very accurate and small enough to conceal, even with my shirt tucked in. Either way you can go wrong.

Why did you trade the LCP for a Nano? Do you prefer the Nano?

All of the little guns you mentioned are decent so I doubt you could go wrong with any of them. My favorite of those mentioned is the SIG P238 as it is truly awesome. BUT.... I find is just larger enough vs the LCP to fit in a pocket comfortably so be sure and test that should you want to pocket carry it.

It's hard to beat an LCP for a mouse gun.

Pick up a Sig P238 and sling some lead downrange with it. I traded in my LCP and some change for the Sig. Less recoil, actually has working/useful sights, and they have a sweet trigger.

My older Son has a Taurus TCP that I've shot a little. It's adequate for it's intended purpose. We looked at the Sig 238 and I really feel it's not the gun for a lot of inexperienced users. The small size and single action look like an invitation to ND from my standpoint.

I had a Ruger LCP for a while. I did not like it for several reasons, one being that the grip was too thin (too mousy) to hold securely. It also had a (imho) terribly long trigger pull, and the 380 round generated too much recoil for my tastes. Since it was identified as a problem child, it went down the road. Now, I'm back to the Beretta 21a, easy to conceal in the pocket, better grip, and much less recoil.

Really like my LCP. It suits it's purpose. Reliable, inexpensive, pocket pistol for those; "Aw crap, I gotta run to the store" moments. While agreeing that they are not comfortable to shoot, they are far from "problematic" or a "problem child".

Ruger LCP is compact but the sights are rudimentary and recoil is sharp.

The P238 is a touch wider and heavier. The sights are excellent. Recoil is easily manageable. It's a great pocket carry pistol. I also recently acquired a P938. It's an excellent pistol. Recoil is as manageable as the P238.
