Polls are useless, I call BS on those numbers and I also agree the questions were most likely phrased in a way to get the answers sought after. Just like the elections....fixed!
I don't care if 99.999 percent of Americans favor a gun ban, we are a constitutional republic and the 2nd amendment would have to be changed.
Looks to me like they polled 1,772 registered voters who voted for Obama in the last election. It's like saying a poll on this website is an accurate indication of how the nation as a whole feels about a subject. Polls are subjective and easy to manipulate.
If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Convicted Criminals don't shop at gun stores for guns. Gang bangers don't shop for guns at gun stores. The poor slob that has a name similar to a convicted felon with a birthday in the same month and year. BLAM! He is affected. To me background checks are a no-brainer. Do you guys know of any other way to keep prohibited persons from buying guns at gun stores?

We aren't talking checks at gun stores, they are already done. We're talking me selling my deer rifle to my brother or neighbor, who I've known my entire life, and having to pay to sell my private property. Universal checks are unenforceable. If I want to sell my rifle to my brother without going through a check, how does the government enforce it. They can't without universal registration. Which Chuckie Scummer now acknowledges would have to happen and is in fact the goal. No good will come from registration. It will lead to confiscation, as has happened on every other occasion, including in our own country as evidence by what has happen in California and the original assault weapon ban they passed years ago.

Prohibited persons don't bother with gun stores, do they.
And why is that? Because they know they wouldn't pass the background checks!

Help me follow your logic here.
If gun stores do background checks,
but people who can't lawfully own a gun don't buy them from gun stores,
then background checks are effective ... how??
From your sig it looks like Tapatalk is working again. Woohoo!
People who can't buy guns from gun stores because of NICS just get them from off the street or steal them from our houses or said gun stores. Criminals and prohibited people will get their guns one way or another!
Yes, you're right. Let's keep the background checks to keep gun stores unavailable as a source for them!

I have no problem with Nics but the Universial Background Checks I do. I should be able to give my guns to my son or grandson without having to run a UBC on them. Or loan my hunting rifle to them either. Or if my mother is having trouble with unsavory people in her neighbor hood and needs protection now not the next day after I run a UBC on her. People I've known all my life I shouldn't have to check them out to loan them a gun or gift it to them in my will.
That's what I have trouble with UBC.
