Montanan needs easy permit for OH

I have my Montana permit but want to visit family in Ohio in the next month.
Utah would work but they want me to take their class then mail in paperwork.

Is their a state that issues a non resident permit just based on the fact that I already have a permit without taking a class? I have local Utah trainers in town but I'm afraid it will take too long.

Arizona does reguire 8 hours of training and can take up to 75 days. You're looking to go next month so I don't think this will help. Virginia also requires training which you may or may not have. Utah is your best bet. If you got local people to take the class from the turn around is fairly quick. A month might be asking a little to much, but I don't see any of the others being any quicker. Also with Utah you get a lot more states that recognize it.

I have yet to have an officer (while I was out of my state) check on whether or not their state had reciprocity with mine...... I doubt very much if they knew it off the top of their heads also....
But it is still a risk.
You are legal to open carry in OH without a permit, just remember that OH considers any vehicle carry as concealed....

The Florida non-resident license is good in OH. Remember that OH is a "Must Inform" state. As soon as you get pulled over tell the office you have a CCW and are carrying. Go to the Florida dept of Agriculture Licensing Division and apply for a FL Non-resident License. All they require is some sort of formal gun training. If you are a veteran your DD Form 214 will do. Any NRA class certificate will also work. Here is the link: Form/Publication Request 790 - Division of Licensing, FDACS
