Modifying magazine

Does anyone know if a magazine can be modified to hold less rounds? My magazines are all 15 rd, and I can't find any 10 rd for my gun, S&W 915. I go to Kali to see my son, and Grandson and need a ten round mag since they don't allow more than 10 rounds any more. Thanks for any help.

I have absolutely no idea what the laws are but I would think the same people who are behind the lower capacity magazine laws are the same type of people who would do everything they can to nail your ass to the wall for having a modified magazine. That would probably make you some sort of potential mass murderer as the mag could be unmodified in order to turn your pistol into an automatic assault weapon in the minds of those who created the laws you are trying to get around. My opinion is worth less than what you paid for it. Can you find any online? I wish you the best of luck.

The OP is from Texas. When he travels to CA he passes through NM and AZ, possibly UT, NV and CO - all states which recognize the Texas CHL and are relatively gun friendly. So, why should he be unarmed during the majority of his trip when he doesn't have to be? Yes, when he gets to CA his >10 round magazines will be illegal, but otherwise all he has to do to meet CA law is unload the gun and lock the gun and ammo in a case. He could, also, disassemble the >10 round magazines at the CA border.
