I've said it before, I'll say it again. I don't agree with the rioters in Europe but at least they're out in the street for what they believe.

In America the "protesters" show their displeasure by looting Wal Mart.

That said, I gotta wonder why the store owner would keep the store open in that location. If enough people close up shop and move away maybe the thugs will get the picture.

Unless it's your store and like this store owner said in the interview, he owes too much that he has to try to keep the store open. He's in a rock and a hard place, he shuts down and he's in debt... he stays open and he may not ever get out of it. So where's he to go? The police need to watch the surveillance video and use whatever law that these punks are breaking against them, not shoo them out and come back later.

Problem in Detroit is that the Police Dept is a joke, corruption is at the higher levels and there is not real leadership for those who truely want to help out the city. From the circus called City Council down to the upper echelon of the PD, there is few, if any, true leaders, most are political posers.
Other problem is, if all the store owners in the D close down and move out, two things happen. The people left behind who can't move out suffer with nowhere to shop. The second problem is the punks have to come out to the suburbs to do their crimes. Better they stay below 8 Mile.
