Missile That Takes Out Electronic Targets Successful!!!!

Got Beretta's?
This is right out of the show Revolution. Perhaps the Show is the governments way of warning us to tow the line or else.

The missile, known as CHAMP (Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project), fired a burst of High Powered Microwaves at the building, successfully knocking out the electronic systems and computers, and even taking out the television cameras recording the test.

Time to build a Faraday Cage?
I know it works for EMP but what about a Microwave Pulse? Is a microwave pulse the same as EMP?
Come on you physics majors chime in here.

This sends your enemy back to the 1800's.

With the way government works and that microwaves have been around since the 40s, I have to believe they are showing a weapon they've had since the 90s. It would be interesting to see what is really tucked away.

Agree, they have had powerful microwave emitters for a long time. Maybe this is just the first drone version...none the less the tech has been around for a while.

If your strategy is that more of the 1800s or early 1900s... you wouldn't have anything to lose.

*wink*

It's not out of the miniseries Revolution because it's highly limited in scope and effect. It doesn't knock out all electrical activity, which is physically impossible to do. You'd die instantly if that happened because your central nervous system uses electrical impulses.
.
Yes, it's the same as EMP, but on a smaller scale.
.
A Faraday cage would work.
