I'm an active duty Marine and am trying to find out what type of "certification" of firearms training Utah accepts. I know for florida i can submit a letter from my commanding officer saying that I have weapons training, but Utah isn't specific. I can find anything on it. Semper Fi thanks for the help.

This doesn't seem to be the most frequented section of the forum, LOL. I just found it myself. If you haven't found an answer to your question, let me know and I will see what I can find out. I'm from Utah and don't mind making some phone calls if it will help.

a quick answer to your question is none, Utah they consider the weapons training to be done during the 8 hour class. This is why some states have a problem with the Utah permit (NV, NM). if you live outside Utah, but report for duty in you Utah, you can get a letter from your CO, that will exempt you from providing proof of your current, and in good standing home state permit.

Index Utah Code
Title 53 Public Safety Code
Chapter 5 Regulation of Firearms
Part 7 Concealed Firearm Act
Section 704
Paragraph 1
Subsection D
