Where in Mid Mi? Mid Mi is a very large area.

I OC everyday everywhere it is legal to carry a gun. And I frequent Saginaw, Clio, St. Charles, Chesaning, Frankenmuth, Montrose, Flushing, occasionally Flint, and all points in between.

There is going to be an OC dinner at:

LOL pretty much all the above. I/we frequent those above areas alot. I am just worried about getting harssed by LEO's/people/stores for OC. Was just wondering who else in the area does it,and if you ever get botherd for it.

Most of the time anyone who says anything to me is asking for information wanting to know if they can also carry a gun in plain sight.

I have only had a couple of instances where someone bothered me about OC. Once was in a Wendy's bathroom in Mason MI. where an off duty cop started asking questions hoping I'd say something he could use for reasonable suspicion or probable cause. He annoyed me greatly since I happened to be watering the porcelain convenience at the time. He decided to leave after I asked him straight out if he was "fishing".

The other instance was when a very irate woman in a local park demanded I go put my gun in the car because she didn't like it. And when I flat out told her "No." the police were called. And one, just one, officer showed up and proceeded to inform the 20 or so folks there that I had the right and it was legal to carry my gun in the open and that the woman who complained DID NOT have a right to demand I put my gun away.

But I must ask... are you up to speed on the laws concerning carrying a gun? ALL of the laws involving carrying whether openly or concealed. And I should also ask if you have a CPL because there are different laws concerning transporting if you don't have a CPL....

Also... if you haven't OC'd as yet and would like to try it in the company of someone else... perhaps we (we=my wife and I) could meet you for lunch someday soon?

But I strongly suggest attending the OC dinner I mentioned above.

Yes, the dinner is being presented by a member of MOC...

Interesting thing about the CPL and open carry.... with a CPL it is legal to open carry in many places it is illegal to concealed carry. If a person has a CPL (in Michigan for those folks from other States reading this) it is illegal to concealed carry in a school or bar... but if you have a CPL it is legal to open carry in a school or bar.

Please do come to the dinner at Tony's mentioned above and learn all the interesting wrinkles in Michigan gun laws.

I'm not sure what part of mid-Michigan you are from but if you can make it over to Big Rapids on Sunday April 8th at 2pm we're having an open carry lunch at Cranker's Coney Island.
