A6468C/S6005A Micro-stamping Bill in Senate Codes Committee

Since March of 2009, New York anti-gun legislators have worked steadily to advance Micro-Stamping companion bills through the legislature. The Assembly bill A6468C passed its house May 12th, 2010 and was forwarded to the NYS Senate. The Senate bill is currently under consideration in the Senate Codes Committee; it has been printed and appears on their calendar for Tuesday, June 8th 2010.

Because micro-stamping technology is not yet available, passage of this bill will result in a purchase freeze on all new semi-automatic pistols as of January 1st, 2012.

We must concentrate our efforts on stalling this bill in the Senate Codes Committee.

Please call every Codes Committee Member and ask them to oppose this bill.

During you conversation, make your opposition to bill S6005A clearly, but respectfully; and always take the time to leave your name, address, phone number, and request a written response.

Do not be surprised if you cannot talk to the representative personally, this is common, and your efforts with their legislative aids are no less effective.

Wow. A firing pin doubling as a return address stamp.
How quickly do you think the gang thugs and drug thugs will be filing down that stamp ?!?!

Wait a minute....I thought banning weapons carry in New York City solved the violence problem !:sarcastic:

Good one. However, to me it has nothing to do with the firing pin. Each firing pin leaves a distinct mark anyway. This is Just another way to limit gun availability in New York State.

The manufacturers will have to make a decision. If I want to sell my product in NY I will have to micro stamp that product. Hmm let see now, buy the equipment train the employees, go through the rig a ma role then add the cost to the price of the gun just to be able to sell in the NY Market.......
Naah screw New York.

WE LOOSE.

I enjoyed the part where they will by decree, I guess, make this all cost 'only' $12.00 mored per gun. Just another feel good idea out of New York City. It would be illegal to alter the firing pin to eliminate the microstamp. I'm sure the criminal element would not want to cross that line! At this time, the bill just needs to be called by the Majority leader for a vote.

Does microstamping actually exist outside some lawmakers fevered imagination?

From what Ive read, its been pulled by the dems as they knew they were a few votes short and had the vote stricken from the record. It can and most likely will be reintroduced for another vote...I assume when they have some time to work on the three dems who stood up and voted NO...

Yea...NRA ILA was claiming defeat until they pulled it and threw away the vote. It IS still a threat.

Gotta hate the language of the article, explaining the voting down of the so-called "Common sense measure."
If they really want to talk about common sense.......:sarcastic:

Socialism is the gateway drug!
