Michigan Expungement granted

I have questions on what I would need to do in order to purchase a handgun and or long gun after having a conviction removed from my record 30 years after the fact. I was convicted in 1982 of larceny from a motor vehicle and just now went to Oakland County Circuit court and had this removed. The judge actually asked me why I waited so long and there were no objections from the State Attorney General, or the Prosecuting Attorney.

I would like to legally own both hand gun for personla protection and long gun for hunting in Michigan.

Can anyone shed some light on what else I would need to do to make this happen after having the record Expunged within the last 30 days?

Thank you in advance for your help on this,

Razorack.

Was it a felony conviction? If so you must have Michigan restore your 2nd amendment civil right.

In most cases as far as I am aware, all you have to do is purchase the legal permits, however i may be wrong. If it was a felony, and it was expunged i dont think there would be a problem.
