I'm guessing he had a glock and removed the magazine but did not clear the chamber, then sqeezed the trigger while planning on removing the slide and had the barrell angeled at his junk and bang.


This is an example of all 4 of the gun safety rules being broken and this guy had probably done that a bunch of times without issue but as Chris Costa says those things will follow you around 24-7 and if you get careless will eventually bite you in the a@@..... or in the pe#@#

Every single time I hear about some rocket surgeon shooting themself while "cleaning" a gun, I always mentally substitute the real reason: The idiot shot his or herself while CARELESSLY PLAYING AROUND WITH a gun.

Also, what's the deal? We can't say ***** in an open forum? How is ***** a bad word? ***** is the word we use when we are talking about the *****. I mean, sure we could say **** or WANG or WILLY or MUTTONDAGGER, but ***** is the one and only official word to use when referring to the *****.

Who are these idiots who are offended by the word ***** anyway? Isn't it just as likely that if they are shocked at the word *****, they will be equally if not more shocked by seeing the uncensored word TESTICLE dangling right there in the clear?

Finally, WHO is being protected by this imbecilic policy? Once they figure out what the hell you're referring to, the evil word will appear in their minds anyway, so you've only just slightly put off their being offended by a few seconds.

My wife is a trauma nurse. I cannot tell you how often she get humorous (for us) GSWs, usually self-inflicted, by guys who were not paying attention to what they were doing. One guy claimed he had been shot by someone else. When she pointed out that the guy would have had to have been hugging him from behind to fire from that angle, he admitted that he didn't clear the chamber, but didn't want folks to know. The wound was pretty close to the guy mentioned above.

That must be true, because we all know that nobody ever shot themselves while cleaning a gun until Glocks came along. It just isn't possible he could have made a mistake with another brand of firearm, even in a state that has difficulty understanding butterfly ballots.

This is what happens with a lack of training and becoming complacent around firearms. Age really does not matter.

Thats why I pound it into their heads. ALWAYS treat every weapon as if it is loaded! Always! No exceptions!
But you know some people have to learn the hard way...oh well, just too damn many people the the world anyway. :sarcastic:

This type of thing is the reason we should always be on the BALL when we are handling our firearms. We don't want to act like some NUT when handling them; we want to be responsible. Yes indeed. Lessons learned the hard way are seldom forgotten. It all boils down to gun safety. It goes like this..."It just went off by itself and Im sure that It was unloaded!" Racking the slide to eject a round then removing the magazine is a sure fire way of getting into a nasty accident.
