Mic Holster

I happened to run across this sweet looking holster called the mic holster. It looks very innovative and I was curious if anyone has tried it and had any thoughts about if it works or if it is just a bust. I have to say I am skeptical about the functionality of every day carry.

Not for me.

I watched the film on this holster and feel that it is more of a "gadget." A big man (large girth) couldn't wear this thing confortably and, if you tried to pull your weapon in a hurry, you might just sling it out of the holster. Being a big man, I need something a little more substantial than that. I currently use a Blackhawk Serpa and it does conceal a Glock 23 easily for me. Besides, I would be afraid of accidentally shooting off my hangy down parts!:sarcastic:

Didn't waste time looking at the video since I only have dialup and it takes too long - what's the string for? And from the pix it looks like you need a clip in addition?

The string is used to tie around your belt then stick the gun in your wasitband. Sorry but I just can't conceive of carrying my weapon like that. It may work for some but not me. If the gun slides below your belt you will have a heck of a time getting it out then where would you be? On the floor bleeding?

I have one and it works just fine

As I said, it may work for some but not me. The way the video showed the fellow using it, it was just down around his hangy down parts and I don't care to carry like that. The holster appears to be more for littler people than me. If it works for you, 'nuff said.

I just watched the "How-To" video of the MIC holster. It will fit a certain niche of the CC crowd obviously. But...my personal take on it...
1) Will not work for me...until I get a Glock. (Should stop here, but will continue with .02)
2) I like the concept of it...String keeps gun from dropping down pants, holds holster secure to belt as you pull gun out for use.
3) Uncomfortable (unusable) for "larger" patrons.
4) Uncomfortable (unusable) in "active" situations...in and out of vehicle all day, in general..ANY physical activity will have your Glock rubbing/pinching you, possibly the wrong way?! Depends on the model being concealed.
5) Just not sure about sticking a chambered Glock inside my pants pointed at groin. Adjusting is obvious...but to make it comfortable and usable, you still have it pointed at your groin/lower abdomen.
6) I could see this being put to great use with anyone behind a register...business owner standing most of the day and quick/easy access.
7) Definite sense of "oneness" with weapon.
ok...now I'm just rambling...

MHO...Try on as many variations of holsters as you can touch (dealers, gun shows, etc) and see what fits YOU best and for what type of CC you plan on.
