MI CPL arrived yesterday!

Applied end-Jan, so about 6 weeks. This sounds pretty good for Wayne County.

When I first applied back in 2003, this was shortly after Granholm took office as Gov. I found out, I should have put in my application in 2002, BEFORE she took office. It took 113 days from the day I filed my application, to the day I got the card in the mail saying my CPL was ready for me to pick up at the Ingham County Clerk's office.

During all that time I spent waiting, when I called and asked what was taking so long, they told me the state police were going through some cut backs in personnel in the office that does the background checks. They'd already received the go ahead from the feds, it was the state that was dragging it's heels.
