I asked

Why is Jake Knott standing in the way of allowing a vote?

It is a shame this person has this ability!

Sounds more like Washington daily.

He replyed

The Judiciary Committee chairman, Sen. Larry Martin, decides what bills to take up.

I'm introducing a new bill "constitutional carry" that basically removes the cwp requirement and makes our laws similar to Vermont

It's ready to go, so i'll put it in Tuesday

Sincerely,
Kevin

Worth supporting!

Bring it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How to help it along ?

Sorry, can't stand behind that in SC. At least not in the Charleston area. Way too many stupid people around here.

If you ask me, this will end up being proof that yes, some folks are too stupid to carry a firearm in SC. There will then be a move to further restrict our rights.

KK

I support this move....

While I do agree that there are some folks who should not carry a weapon. Who am I to deny them their right.

We can all hope these folks will be a good citizen and educate themselves and spend some time at the range....

While I understand a few folks may hurt themselves I still support it..

Just my two cents worth..

Vermont does not issue any permit at all. Not even for reciprocity (Im on my phone and cant spell check). Anyone can OC or CC to their hearts content.

My comment has nothing to do with any other state. I'm talking about SC, being that this thread happens to be in the SC forum.

Let me give you yet one more example of the stupidity allowed to thrive in this area.

I walked out of the Hot Spot and caught an impromptu conversation with a truck driver with a load of very large tires.

One of the indiginous scholars, who had just walked away from the register for a smoke, asked the driver, 'What Dem big ol' tya's be fo'.

The truck driver replied that they were for 'Earth Movers'.

The scholar giggles a bit an say's, 'ya right, nobody can move da earf'.

And you wonder why I cringe when I think these same folks might carry a gun? Not that most don't anyway but being legal for anyone would be scarey!

KK

Guess you've never been to Vermont then.

Or Alaska.

As for me, every state has idiots and to think otherwise is idiotic in and of itself. Anyone who thinks we, or anyone in any state, needs to continue licking boots and getting a piece of paper to be "allowed" to carry has not read the 2nd A, or at least does NOT fully support the idea behind it regardless of how eloquent the rebuke to this post might be...

Been to Vermont many times. Just explaining there are plenty of Nimrods there as there are here and it's no " Wild West" up there.

Thanks ....Now I got it...That's what happens when you get old..Brain cells are not as quick as they once were...LOL

I have never been to Vermont but I don't think there are as many nimrods there as in SC and our infamous I-95 corridor. As for the idiots hurting themselves with their guns I am not concerned about that at all but I am concerned about them hurting me while exercising their 2A right.

I spent some time up in Fairfax, VA a while back and as bad as some people try to make that area sound I told my wife on the way home that the culture their is so much different that around where we live that it is impossible for someone living in that area to understand some of our complaints about how people act. Whether it is socio-economic or just the historical culture it is very hard for someone who is totally unfamiliar with a certain area to understand the problems of that area. This is just one of the things that our federal government screws up continually trying to make everyone the same and doing away with states rights. No better example of this is that "no child left behind" mess, the mainstreaming of the handicapped, and doing away with allowing classes to be segregated by student abilities that has totally screwed up any hope of our educational system working.

As a slippery-slope believer and wondering who is to judge, I am all in favor of Constitutional carry.

I am for less restrictions with a modicum of common sense added. I think a quick call to NICS is not stepping on personal freedoms and permit instantly issued along the lines of a fishing permit good for 4-5 years to eliminate the people that obviously do not need to carry. Otherwise straw perchases would increase. John Smith buys his gun and uncle Bubba just sticks it in his waist to go buy some beer. Have you checked out some of the people at Walmart?
