For those of you who have tried both Meprolight and Trijicon 3 Dot Night Sights, which do you prefer? And why?you see,I am debating which between these 2 brands to get for my Sig Sauer pistol as the current sights installed is loosing it's glow.
Thanks in advance.

I have the Meprolights on a Kimber and the Trijicon night sights on my G23. I carry my G23 as a duty weapon and work graveyard so I have lot of experience actually using the Trijicon's at night. They work well and have for several years. However, even though I don't have as much experience using the Meprolights at night, when I have used them they've seemed slightly sharper and brighter and I tend to prefer them.

I have both brands and also work nights and hands down the meprolights are the brightest. Both are high quality but trijicons are made with smaller viles of gas compared to Meprolights larger ones.

I use the Meprolights on my glocks. I was looking at the Trijicon but found a better deal on the Meprolights. I don't think a person could go wrong with either one.

Both are good brands. I've seen side-by-side comparisons of the major tritium night sights, and here is the difference:
Trijicons are a bit sharper, and a little brighter than the Meprolights. If I had to guess at why, it may just be the polish and grind Trij puts on the saphire jewels they place in front of the tritium cells for light diffraction.

I can tell you that on the Trijicons, you have a choice generally speaking, of green front post with yellow or green or orange rear dots.
green is the brightest (human eyes are most sensitive to this color band) and have 12 year warranty
yellow is dimmer than green but offers a difference in both color and brightness to more quickly acquire your sight picture. yellow is also 12 year warranty.
orange offers the same difference in color and brightness but only carries a 5 year warranty from Trij.

Personally, I would take what Glass Wolf said about the colors and the brightness and make sure you place Green at your front sight. Then either use yellow or orange to the rear. Having the brightest color at your front will help you get on sight alignment easier.

I have used Trijicon and I liked them, because they did the job they were supposed to. When I needed to replace them, I opted for the TFO's from Truglo ( Link Removed )

I went with the yellow rear sight and the green front sight for the reason mentioned above. What I love about these is that my sights don't get washed away in bright light either. In the dark, the stand out better than my Trijicons. Is this because they are brighter or because I opted for the yellow/green combination? *shrugs*
